I was informed by a member on theturboforums.com, who works at ford, that the Job 2 will be delayed.
This is what he wrote me:
"Looks like you got a nice truck but I think it will be delayed getting to you for a few weeks. I work at the plant and we just launched the 08 1/2 models. We had some issues with the 4x4's and getting parts in, so we have shutdown for at least week. said that we could be down till september but I doubt it. "
KTP employees on Blue Oval Forums are reporting that they have already started producing the JOB#2 trucks, but will be on shut down the week of August 6th due to problems with parts for the 4X4's.

I just had someone look on the Ford Internal site and as of the 08/03/07 Dealer bulletin, the KTP is online and producing trucks. There is no mention of a parts delay or shortage for super duty production. This friday's bulletin may tell a different tale but for now, full speed ahead.....

46k miles, 12.0MPG town 14.0 MPG HWY - only problem was a small oil leak since then running like a top
KTP is shutting down completely this week, so everything is rescheduled one week later..
I guess they are waiting on new inventory of wiring looms before they can build again.
I can see how this situation can bring an entire factory to a screetching hault..
Well, there went my guaranteed to get the 3k rebate delivery week.

I wouldn't sweat it..
Superduty trucks are not moving well, and as we approach Labor day weekend, you can bet that gasoline will be skyrocketing again. NOT good for truck sales...
Also, Toyota is offering over $7,000.00 in Tundra rebates right now, and that has the big three selling way off their numbers from last year..
That all adds up to at least the status-quo, and maybe even better deals after 9-3....
Either way, it's out of our control, and there is no reason to get your blood pressure up over something you can't do a thing about..

I think you are on the right track with that statement. It was also mentioned on BOF that KTP is down to 2 shifts since the return from shutdown for JOB2 change over. This is expected to last thru September or October. They are also expecting the potential of 1 or more week long shut downs thru this time.

If I can find a dealer that will sell me a truck for invoice and give me the incentives I'd buy one today. But the ones I'm dealing with are holding out it seems.. fustrating..I live in Northern NH so dealers with stock are hard to find.
Also to order one the way I want it they don't want to go there.
I also worry about not getting the rebates with ordering one today.
All the one's on the lot's are built with to many options for me. I want just a plain Lariet with about 800.00 worth of options only.
My build list's at 48,800..most on lot's are 52K plus
I don't know what to do.

Will any of the dealers you are shopping at do a deal on a truck using X Plan? X Plan will get you to just below invoice and your incentives without having to "make a deal".

Wrong...
My truck is now delayed one week due to faulty wire looms, potentially causing fires in the 4X4 trucks..
[/ QUOTE ]
When did you make your order?
I placed my order on july 31 late in the afternoon at the dealership. Do you think I will be delayed due to wiring issue or will they put the bad one in?
I placed my order on the 16th of July..
So, I think we're all lucky that they found this problem before it turned into something crazy.
Imagine having your new truck in the shop getting a new harness?

George, how you figured that out? They have 2500 cash back. If they ask for invoice that would be some 3000 bucks to go with the rebate. Just curious.
