Looking at orders in the system this morning I have several orders showing hold status. Looks like there's also a commodity restraint on the Sirus Sat option.

What is a commodity restraint?

If I had one ordered the extra wait would sure be worth it not to get a truck that had problems out the door. I applaud Ford for stopping the line to get things right. Seems to me they are taking QC seriously, cause in the past, they would let em roll and deal with it later..........

It means this option is not in stock at KTP. If you have this radio option, your order gets skipped over until the item arrives at the plant.

Do ya think they finally learned somethin'???
It's about time..
Sales of the Tundra as so good, Toyo is lowering the rebates (at the same time GM is raising its rebates).
The "Official" TMS rebate in TX had been $3500. Now it is $3000.
There had also been a Gulf States Toyo $2500 rebate. Not sure what is happening with it.
Used to be able to get 0% for 60 months in lieu of rebate. Now I think that it is only 48 months.
I don't think this could be farther from the truth. A very reliable source who works for Toyota tells me they have let go all temps at their larger truck plant and have slowed the line to the lowest times possible. This truck is not selling well and has not met sales projections yet. My opinion is the styling is not the best and the price is second highest in the field next to Nissan.

Nobody's buying trucks.
If you think these times are slow, just wait until we hit the Labor Day weekend when there will be another timely refinery hiccup and the price of fuel hits almost $4.00 a gallon..
Trucks will be NAILED to the lots...

Were are you getting this info? The California region, along with several others are selling the 2008 SD's just about as fast as we can get hold of them.
Bobby, if that were true, there wouldn't be any increased rebates from Ford. Even with lowerd amounts of stock, their rebates are driven by the rest of the struggling segment in order to stay competitive....
Are your numbers as strong as last year?
I waited 19 weeks to get my 1999 Superduty, and that's back when KTP was running 3 shifts.
I'll have current order in my driveway in less than a 6 week turn, and that's with their current, trimmed workforce..
FORD BRAND JULY 2007 U.S. SALES
July Month % July CYTD %
2007 2006 Change 2007 2006 Change
GM is getting killed...
I guess the puffed up, wide eyed look isn't gettin' er' done...
I think the gas guzzlers are on their way out for the general public, so there are no more "soccer mom" Superdutys...
Even my wife wants to get rid of her Tahoe for a smaller Lincoln MKX because it's cute..
Maybe smaller is getting to be the trend?
I think the BIG picture here is gasoline prices have cut deep into the average American budget.
The new car? It's got to be efficient...
BTW, have you guys seen any Job 2 trucks w/ the chrome pkg. yet?

I think sales of all type vehicles is a regional thing. They even tailor the rebates to specific areas based on sales. In my area, deep south, there is plenty of inventory on all of the lots. One small dealer I passed just this morning had 10 08 diesel SD's on the lot, the larger dealers have a really good stock. It is hard to compare any market to California and Texas, they have so many folks living there that the market will always be different. Bobby probably has more folks living in a 50 mile radius of his dealership than we have in our whole state.
Just got a look at the DNB (dealer news bulletin) for 08/10/2007 from someone and verified that there are no holds shown. Also does not show the plant down. It would be nice if FORD knew their plant was sitting idle??? As far as how long it takes to get a truck built, the dealrers allocation has a lot to do with it. If they do not have the slot, they wait.

Good luck in getting a truck inyour driveway in 6 weeks. I ordered on Jun 04, 2007. My truck was supposed to be built this week. I am waiting patiently to see if it is going to arrive the week of Aug 20 per my salesman. That will be 12 weeks after I ordered if the KTP did not shut down this week as mentioned in the blue-oval forum.

We will be back at work next week. This down week was due to a parts problem rather than sales. Hope you get your truck ASAP.

I don't know your source so I cannot comment on accuracy, but this is from an official Toyo press release:
"Light truck sales were led by the all-new Tundra full-size pickup with all-time best-ever sales of 23,150, an increase of 134.5 percent over the year-ago month."
Seeing how Toyo's sales goal was 200,000 Tundras in MY 2007, seems to me 23,000 in one month is doing pretty good.
I have read that Toyo can't give away regular cabs, and only the IN plant is making the CrewMax. So it might be a problem with product mix, not overall sales.
Called Ford today; person said my F350 4x4 manual crew was being built today and due to be at the dealer 8/27. Was the plant partially shutdown or did the system just show her it was stuck on the line?
