Just got my build date

Just got my build date of 7/16/01, for my 02 F350, CC, Lariat, 4x4, Dark Shadow Metallic Grey, Flint interior, camper package, security group, dual alt's, and more. Also saw paint chip for the Dark Shadow Metallic Grey. Looks great. I would say it is close to a C***y Tahoe Grey. Dealer thought dark gun metal grey. He said it is close to a Dark Grey the F-150's had several years ago but metallic. Now the wait really gets exciting. Yesterday, I got my build date of June 25. Looked at my calendar and started worrying. We all know that you never want to buy a truck built on a Monday or a Friday, and this is going to be a Monday's child. I got my order in the last day that they were accepting '01 orders. It didn't make much difference to me whether it was an '01 or an '02, since there aren't any significant changes.
I've already started to fill my barn with the goodies to go on it. So far I've got my trailer ball mount with 6" drop, trailer ball, bed mat, window vent shades and Amsoil bypass filter. Still on order are the rubber floor mats, headlight covers, bug deflectors and factory service manual. And the accessory which made the truck neccessary is due in any day now, a Lance 11'-6" slide in truck camper. It's loaded with full bath, heat, stove, oven, microwave, propane generator, AC, side and rear awnings, wireless remote electric jacks, and a curb side slide out dinette.

As soon as the truck shows up, I take it to the Lance dealer and they'll be installing a Reese Class V hitch which allows me to tow up to 6000 pounds behind my camper, air bags, tie downs and cabover stabilizers.

A few thousand miles for break in and then it's off to Scheid Diesel in Terre Haute, IN for installation of a Cyclone fan, a super duty D-Celerator exhaust brake, both by U.S. Gear, a cool down circuit to keep the engine idling before shutdown, and a Banks engine kit with gauges. I'm still undecided between the Stinger and the Stinger plus. I'm leaning toward the + right now, but as soon as the truck shows up and I can give them the programming code, I'll have to make a decision.

It's going to be a long month of waiting.
OH yeah, it's a F-350 DRW, 4x4, crew cab, Lariat, 6 speed, in White with Harvest Gold lower paint. I've found that white goes a lot longer before it shows the dirt. I don't like driving a dirty vehicle and I don't like washing it every week either, so white it is.
