Multiple Build Dates

I originally had a build date the week of April 2. It was bucked on April 5. Checked today and I have a build date the week of April 16 with an ETA the same week.

Does this make any sense? "Bucked" means parts are on the line and ready to roll doesn't it? Would the parts sit on the line the whole week of April 9? I don't mind waiting a little longer just wondered if anyone could shed some light on the changing build dates.

Thanks!
Blue

Re: Multiple Build Dates

Blue -- I punched your VIN into OASIS and it currently shows no build date. It is not uncommon for the build date to get pushed back, especially as we get closer to model year 2001 build out. For some reason, our DRW units always seem to get pushed back. I'll run your VIN through OASIS in a couple of weeks and E-mail the results.

Re: Multiple Build Dates

So does "bucked" mean parts are 'ready' to go on the line? or are they ON the line? When a build date gets moved do they move the parts off the line? Hmmmmm...I guess I don't expect any answers, just trying to picture the process in my head...if the parts were ready to go...perhaps they ended up on a SRW or something.

Bummer on the extra week, but oh well, it'll be worth it. Any thoughts on which rail company from Kentucky to Michigan?

Thanks!

Re: Multiple Build Dates

bluerhino,
Who is giving you a build date? Sometimes dealers will tell you that to make you happy. Normal a vehicle has a tenitive build date assigned to it by a blend computer. We can't build but so many crewcabs,4x4,drw,psd or lariat in a row. Many times after a vehicle has a tenitive date things change. Production schedules sometimes change due to part suppliers, weather, demand, and many other factors. You truly don't know if the truck is going to be built until status 200 (don't quote me on this on, hard to remember). Due to demand for drw and 4x4 units it is hard to make the parts fast enough to keep up with orders. I work for the company and it took me 6 months to get my dually. If I must say, it was worth the wait. I hope that you are happy with your new purchase. In short the build date ain't in stone.
