Oh My....What Did I Do?

I need help. When ordering my new truck, I never actually got into a Lariat model. Drove the XLT, looked thru the options I wanted, and decided to order the leather. Today I took my son (he's 5) to the dealer to see what the truck will look like when it arrives and.......Arrrrgggghhhh.

What in the H*ll is that ugly, 1970's family truckster, old a$$ retired guy (no offense) Fake Plastic Wood crap doing in my truck??

Please tell me this is optional and I didn't order it.

If not...and I am stuck with it...what is the easiest (and fastest) way to get rid of it?

Re: Oh My....What Did I Do?

Well, looking at all the money you're planning to spend on other goodies, I think the cost of replacing it with anything up to and including solid silver would be a drop in the bucket

I haven't tried taking mine off, I like it , but I imagine it just pops out and could be painted or replaced with something more your style.

Re: Oh My....What Did I Do?

Okay, here goes!

It is optional and you really didn't order it!

Now, just make sure you keep your eyes closed whenever you enter the truck and there will be no problems.

As you have already guessed, you got the plastic wood. Pop it out, paint it, cover it, laminate it with real wood! Be creative and let us know what you end up doing!

Re: Oh My....What Did I Do?

Diesel virgin, first of all if you orderd a Lariat yes will get that wood ( Plastic )trim. Second if you got the tan interior I would be happy to trade the door panels of of my truck for yours. Those plastic pieces are more trouble to remove then you would think. I found that out when someone else said the didn't like that trim and just wanted to swap the trim pieces, after we looked into it a little more we decided against it because of the hassel involved.
I have been planning on buying all new panels to replace mine to get that trim.
But if you would be willing trade your whole panels for mine great. mine are still like new, and I don't think thier is any change between the 2000 and 2002 trucks as far as the door panels are concered. If interested, leave me a privet message and I will get back to you.
P.S

Re: Oh My....What Did I Do?

Kai,

This place looks great. Too bad they don't make the brushed alim for our trucks. I think it'd look cool in the grey interiors!
