I am ordering a truck on Thursday, I have the order guide that I got from sunrisefordfleet.com. I think earlier, around the release of the Job 1 08 Superduty, I saw another PDF that gave the layout of the order sheet the dealers use, but I could be wrong. If anyone has this, I would like a copy. I want to be uber prepared when I go to order, and I want to make sure it is 100% before they send the order in. I have the options picked out for my truck from the orderguide. I will list the order codes below.
Another question I have is how long are ordered srw f-250 CC KR 6.4L 4x4s taking to be built and delivered. I was told by my dealer that once KTP had produced the vehicle, it would be on their lot within a week. So I guess my question is how long from order until the vehicle rolls off the other end.
I have heard that an order can be tracked, can anyone PM me how, if it is not postable.
Lastly, is earnest money typically required when you order a truck?
As for the truck it will be a 156" 608A 99R/44B X3L 642 TAV 67A 41H 965 43M 76R 592 85G 39S 58C 41A 76V 85D 66S 17X 17K 91T SC T5 G3
Sorry for the long post.

I doubt you saw something like that put out by Ford. It was probably produced by a dealer. The Order Guide is the closest thing to that you'll get from Ford.
When a sharp dealerperson orders a new vehicle, he has the order in writing in front of him. Then he keys it into the vehicle ordering system of the Ford Vehicle Order Processing Center (VOPC). The computer at VOPC checks the order as it's keyed in to be sure all the options are available that the dealerperson coded. If the dealerperson trys to input an option that's not available with the other options on the order, the computer will reject the order. For example, the order code for the copper paint accent for a Harley Davidson won't be accepted with your order for a King Ranch.
After the order is keyed into and accepted by the VOPC, then the next business day the VOPC sends the dealer a dealer order receipt acknowledgment (DORA). If the dealerperson properly coded the order, then the DORA will be priced. The dealerperson receives the DORA the next business day.

Not necessary.
Instead, make it part of your deal that you will receive a copy of the priced DORA the next day. When you get the DORA, check every line on it, and be sure it includes everything you orderd but nothing you didn't order - other than FDAF, some diesel, and destination charge.
If there's anything wrong with your order, the dealerperson has at least a couple of days to process a "change order" transaction to fix the problem(s).
Even the pros screw up. My nephew, fleet manager of a big dealer, ordered mine, but somehow forgot to include LS differential. I caught it the next day by reviewing the DORA, and he immediately processed the change order. The corrected DORA showed he did it right that time.

Normally, 6 to 8 weeks. But it is often a week or so sooner or later than that. There are numerous factors that determine exactly how long it takes, but plan on 8 weeks from the time your dealer hands you a copy of the DORA.

Typically? Yes. But not always. My dealer has known me and my parents and grandparents his whole life. So if I order a truck that he wouldn't mind having in his inventory, then he won't ask me for a deposit. But if I order something that only a mother could love, then he has to protect himself, so he'll charge me a deposit. Or I bounce in off the street and I'm new in the area, then he'd charge me a deposit.

My Sierra Blanca in the sig pic was a great pickup for 11.5 years. I sold it last year. Replacement is a 2012 F-150 EcoBoost SuperCrew Lariat.
Adding to what Smokey has said, make SURE your name is listed on your DORA.
With that, you are protected from any price inreases that may take effect while your truck is on order.
When I ordered my 2003 Lariat LE, (first 6.0L and long wait) there were three price increases before I finally received my truck. I was fully protected and saved almost $1,400.00. which would have been unrecoverable unless my name was on the DORA.
Thanks for the help guys. The truck is on order and if it follows the same pattern as their order last week, I will get it late August, early September. Also, if you are in the Nashville area check out Two Rivers Ford, they have treated me great so far, and placed my order with no earnest money.
