Ordered F450 on 8-21, when should I expect it? - Diesel Forum

Bit the bullit and ordered a F450 yesterday through the dealer fleet/internet manager. He said their experience has been 6-8 weeks (Los Angeles)but wondering what this group thinks I can expect. Ordered "Job2" with the new rear view camera. By way of background, when I ordered my current 2003 Chevy 3500, they also said 8 weeks but is was more like 12. Can't see how they could make one and get it delivered in 6 weeks, but maybe I'll be surprised?

Prior to the plant shut down, which to my knowledge is back running 100%, order to delivery was right at 6-7 weeks. Like discussed here many times, the time frame will point directly at a dealers allocation. I haven't heard of any allocation issues within the California Region, so you should be good. I have heard of some local dealers not using the highest priority possible on retail ordered F450's as they are the hottest thing going right now in the F-Series. That will also dictate the delivery time frame [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif[/img]

I ordered a F350 CC Lariat SRW 4X4 June 04, 2007. It was not built until August 15 and I am still waiting for delivery. I know of another person whose truck was built 8/16 and he took ownership today. It depends on where you live. Rail is slowed down with the weather being a mess in the Mid West. I was waiting for delivery this week but the Ford CSC told me a 8/27 week delivery was estimated. I live in the Houston, TX area.

It looks like it is going to be at least 14 weeks for my delivery. There were 3 weeks that the plant was down during this time. Still you would be looking at longer than 6-8 weeks.
