Hi All,
My dealer gave me a copy of my vehicle order confirmation sheet, but indicated there is no VIN yet. Is there any other way I can check the status of the order? I understand from BON.com there used to be an automated system, but that it has been discontinued.
its still there that is where i get my info but it isnt automated you start a thread here BON and when viper piolet or another has time usualy early morning they run the VIN number and post the results...and then you bump iyour thread to the first page no more than every 3 days, but yes they need the vin number so check back with your dealer every monday till they give it to you...
Read the directions at the top of the page on that link..

DORA recieved:9/14/07 || ReceiptDate:9/14/07 || SerializeDate:11/01/07 || SegmentDate:11/01/07 || SequenceDate:11/10/07 || BlendDate:11/13/2007 || GesitmatedBuildWeek: 12/10 || ProducedDate:11/21/07 || GateRelease:11/21/07 || ShipDate:11/24/07 || ArrivalDate:11/30/07 || SoldDate:11/30/07 ||
Goto the dealer and get him to give you a copy of the DORA it will have the vin on it...or atleast the true order number and the dealer nubmber and your sales persons name and a few other things and then read the vin tracking 2008 thread and on BON and call VOPC pretending to be your dealer and ask if the vin is available...they will then give you the first 2 digits and the last 8 digits if the truck has been serialized and the dora will have all the rest but the check digit if you have that much you can probably force the vin outta the dealer....though i have seen the guys at BON work with 16 digits if you tell them that the check digit is missing. As in the first 2 are 1F then what is on the DORA then last 8 xxxxxxxx like 1Fxxxxxxx_xxxxxxxxx though try the dealer first and if you call VOPC and they give you the first2 and last 8 then go back to the dealer but obviously dont tell them where you got the info...
P.S. the DORA also is a good way to make shure that what you ordered is what was recieved by ford.

All you really need is the last 6 of the VIN and a little info on the type of vehicle (wheel base, GVWR, 4X4 or 4X2) and the VIN can be deciphered from that.
If the OP can provide that information, I will decipher it for them.

As for the DORA, I have repeated calls & emails out to him asking to provide.

It looks like I finally have a VIN#. The last 7 on the DORA are: TWW31R 8. I think the beginning of the VIN is going to be 1FTWW31...
The other information is:
Body W31 - 156 Wheelbase (CC Short Bed)
GVRW: 11400#
4X4
heh not last... but middle and yeah a vin hasnt been assigned yet just the stuff they know by the options that you chose. but yeah 1FTWW31R_8 is what it will be and you can add E after the 8
'1FTWW31R_8E' E = Kentucky Truck Plant and now you just need the serial number at the end,& the check digit between the 'R' & '8' that will be assigned when they serialize it.
