Yes, it is possible that your wait time could be longer if you go to a dealer that does not sell many trucks.

There are a few factors that Ford uses to determine allocation. As you have already guessed, volume of sales is a major one. Bobby is a very good example of that. He has a very high volume of sales and he gets his vehicles in no time flat.

Re: Production Time - Super Duties

I remember my dealer telling me I used up their last allocation for the week or something.

Re: Production Time - Super Duties

Yep, local dealers never had the same salesmen twice, no one could answer questions about the truck correctly. And I just didn't feel confident in doing buisness with them. Bobby was friendly, Knowlegeable, and took the time to work with me. He placed the order, sent me the dora, and has an order tracking web page. It was easy, I did it at home. The hardest part is the wait. As a bonus sunrise has a huge allotment so im looking at only 8 or 9 weeks including the 2 week shutdown.

Wicked,

Have you received any updates on your rig? I just found out from the VIN tracker thread on blueoval that mine has been produced, as scheduled. I ordered it 9/8, and from the very beginning was told it would be built the week of 10/29. My dealer had me a VIN# in a week, and the date held through the shutdown. Hopefully yours will be produced just as timely. For those curious, here's a link to its window sticker: http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums...e=post&id=5286

Re: Production Time - Super Duties

As of yesterday my order was submitted to the factory, though i still dont have the VIN but i've seen it take upto 10days-2weeks to get serialized on the BON forums veichle tracking section. but the dealer said the week of 12/2 was the first open week it could be built...we'll see.

It is sitting in a rail yard 90 miles south of here, the dealer thinks it should get delivered early next week..around the 20th(gotta unload from train and load on the semi truck and whatnot).

I ordered it on 10/1 and arriving in 7 weeks to the dealer is pretty good in my book, especially with all the talk of delays and whatnot.

I can't wait to see how peppy this beast is gonna be with the 4.30s
