You should be driving your truck this week Adam...
I am hoping my rig was built last week, and on it's way. Delivery week is supposed to be the 9th, but I'm optimistic that Conrail will come through again.
The mixing yard in Buffalo is constantly full or transporters, and those guys do a great job. If it's delivered by rail today, it's usually at the dealership tomorrow.

Re: The race is on

I've been off all summer due to a shoulder surgery. I just started back to work and still no truck. I could have enjoyed it while I was off. Oh well, I'm ready to start fine tuning the looks of my truck as well. Hopefully less than a week away. I feel like I have begun to know you guys even though we have never met. One thing is for sure, no matter what part of the country you are from, we are all ready for our rides and man is it going to be great when we get them.

I would bet that my truck sits at the CSX Rail Yard right now.
Now, it's up to the truckers to load it and deliver it to my dealer, which is 10 miles from the yard.
Sometimes, this takes a day, sometimes it takes two weeks.
We'll see....

LA,
I feel your pain.

SNAP......
The three days after the surgery was the roughest days of my life. I'm right back to 100%, what ever that is for someone who is 48..

Re: The race is on

George,
When did yours arrive at the rail yard? Just trying to figure out when mine should hit. I shipped on 09/01 I just checked and found out that mine is passing through Selkirk today.

I totally tore my long handle bicep tendon. I had a torn Labrum, Rotator Cuff, and bone spurs. Then I went and tore the sutures out of the Rotator Cuff and had to have that fixed again in July. I'm 42 and it wasn't that easy on this young feller. I'm still doing therapy for strengthening.

Re: The race is on

You guys will like this.
My Orthopedic surgeon is a Ford truck guy.
I met him back in 98' in the emergency room when I cut a tendon in my finger. While he was fixing me up, we started talking trucks and come to find out, we both ordered new 99' SDs

In 04' he stopped by to see if I knew any custom shops to build him a big truck, and I pointed him to Alton Customs. Next thing I knew, he was taking delivery..
Here's a picture of his rig that is on Altons website:
2005 Crew/Supercab

Then he was the guy who I hired to fix my shoulder. He is a great guy and a great orthopedic surgeon, AND a Ford man!

I severed my right bicep about 20 years ago. I had racing stripes on my undershorts for the whole recovery...I did learn to wipe with my left hand though.....took a while.....finally bought some black shorts to keep the old lady from *****ing at me. I still wear black ones, saves on chlorox ya know.

Re: The race is on

Hey guys, still no truck here. I figure since mine has been gate released for so long I just need to go down there and open the d*mn gate!!! It's funny but I have also enjoyed waiting with all you guys. When I get home I look to see who's posted and our waiting group is the first ones I look for. I'm rooting for us all to have our trucks by Friday.

LAJones, thanks for the info on the billet inserts, ordered them yesterday. Looks like I can hang them on the wall since there's no truck to put them on.
