I suspect you're talking to the wrong folks at the dealerships.
Salesmen get paid on delivery of the truck to you. If they order one for you, and you wait 75 days for it, the salesman has to wait 75 days to get paid. He wants to deliver one to you
now! Or next week at the latest. So he can get paid now.
I never talk to salesmen. Big waste of time. I begin with the new-truck sales manager or the fleet manager or maybe the dealership's general manager. Or in a small dealership, go right to the dealer or owner. I would be very surprised if one of those guys wouldn't order you a new truck exactly the way you want it. Unless your firm gross over invoice amount was below their minimum to make a deal.
