Ship via Convoy??

I was wondering if anyone knows for sure whether CONVOY means by truck or by Train. Blue Oval says Convoy means Train, which seems very counter intuitive. My father, who is a Ford retiree, says Rail means Rail, and Convoy means by truck, which makes alot more sense. Just wondering if anyone knows for sure.

Go with Dad.

A "convoy" is several vehicles traveling together. I suppose a car-hauler truck full of cars and pickups could be a "convoy" in that sense of the word.

Anyhoo, when Ford status says convoy, they mean car-hauler truck. When they say rail, they mean a choo choo train. Most new pickups are delivered by a combo of rail for most of the way, then convoy for the last few miles. In some cases, the railhead is a coupla hundred miles away, such as mine in Amarillo. So the train takes the new pickups to Amarillo, then a car-hauler truck brings them 200 miles for the last leg of the trip from KTP.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunatly, VOPC says I am now "On Hold" and the main guy who keeps everyone up to date on BlueOval is on vacation. The constant flow of Info has kept me patiently waiting, until now.
