I just did a check on the numbers concerning the addition of the tow package and sliding glass with privacy on the Lariat. Check the vehicle I ordered below. At the time I ordered I am guaranteed a price of invoice plus $200. My invoice for the base truck was $27095. Now the invoice base is $27465. A difference of $370. The options of tow pkg, and the windows totals $324. A difference of $46 more than what I am to pay. I pretty much think the thing is a wash as far as I can figure it.

I had the same price difference ($48) until I looked at my VOC, and realized that the extra $48 was for 30 Gallons of fuel. That's probably what they are charging you for.

Texas,
Mine was kind of weird...18 gallons for $28.80. But I did not include that stuff in the difference...just the straight numbers invoice to invoice and invoice cost to invoice cost. Otherwise I might be throwing in some other unknowns like FDAF (mine was $160) and other options, etc.

On a $30k-$40k truck I think it is weird to be charged for that first tank (half tank, quarter tank, whatever) of fuel in the first place. They do not push these trucks off the line in Kentucky, you know (read the article "Birth of T-Red" on this Web site).
The fuel charge on my VOC was 33 gal @ $59.40. Works out to $1.80/gallon, or about .50 more/gal. than what diesel is currently going for around here (West-Central Missouri). Take that same tank of fuel and finance it @ 9% for 48 months, about $2.45/gal.

I don't believe you get charged for the fuel or the FDAF unless you are paying invoice plus whatever amount. The fuel charge is part of the invoice. It does seem kinda cheap though. You'd think Ford could afford a tank of fuel.

Canoe1, It doesn't matter if you buy for x-over or pay suggested retail off the lot, if the dealer gets charged for fuel, then his best price to you includes fuel. Fuel is just one part of your truck. Asking Ford to "donate" fuel is like asking them to donate the engine as "they don't push them off the line."

Catch-All floor mats, Rhino liner so far (husky mudflaps backordered)
Then the dealer took the truck out for the PDI and filled it with fuel, $80. Did not charge me for this. (Salesman had brought it to the front and the bill was still in the console, mechanic should have taken it out).
So far they have been pretty good to me.
No complaints yet.
Now have 150km on the truck. No sign of cackle, so far. No box/frame/cab squeeks or bangs, no pulling to one side under braking. Of course all this is "so far" but it's a good start.

Has definately been the worst truck I've owned in my 30 years driving Fords.
Ho'w this for a kick in the tail?. Ford charges for a certain amount of fuel in all vehicles, THEN they reimburse's the dealer for the difference between the amount on the invoice and a full tank in order for the dealer to deliver all vehicles with a full tank. You would not believe the grief we get if surveys comeback with an unacceptable percentage of people saying they did no get a full tank of fuel
