Does anyone have a good idea on how to get an F 350 from x to y? I am looking all over the western US for a truck & dont know exactly how to get it here if I do find one. Possibly an OTR trucking outfit? I thought about a drive-away service, but dont really want a 19 year old kid driving my baby before I do.
I know what you are all going to say. Go & drive it, you payed for it. If I did, would it hurt a (brand new)PSD to pull a 5.0 convertible on a U-haul rental trailer, or would it help with break-in?
Thanks
I don't think you'll even feel the Mustang behind your truck. The only thing I'd be concerned about is rocks that your new F-350 kicks up. It may damage the Mustang's hood or ding the windshield. Might want to get one of those big ol' splash guards that protect 5er's. There's one that mounts in your hitch receiver and provides one of its own.
Cheers,
Tim

Search for info on break-in, you will find what you need to know. Were do you live in NV? A FRIEND OF MINE IS THE FLEET MANAGER HERITAGE FORD MODESTO CA. HIS NAME IS DAVE MCKEAN 1-209-343-5225. TELL HIM EVERETT SENT YOU, AND HE WILL GIVE YOU THE SAME DEAL HE GAVE ME. THREE HUNDRED OVER DEALER INVOICE PLUS FREE OIL CHANGES AS LONG AS YOU OWN THE VEHICLE. I have scheduled a few trips to NV over the next few months, so if you live close to were I'm going maybe I can help you out. Let me know, Everett (BIG E 7)

It depends. I'd leave the car at home and fly to the town where the new truck is located. Then use the trip home to break in the unloaded truck.
But if you really want to drive both ways and haul the car back, that too can be done if you promise you'll not be in any hurry.
First, I'd drive the truck about a hundred miles unloaded and not towing. On roads where you can constantly speed up and slow down without using the brakes. Around town. Thru town. Across town.
Then hook up the trailer and head home - but "baby" it for several hundred miles. Continue to use the brakes as little as possible - let the engine decelerate on it's on when possible.
If the road home includes interstates, then do not use the cruise control and constantly vary your speed from about 50 MPH to the speed limit with gradual acceleration, then let off the accelerator completely until it gets back down to about 50 MPH - traffic permitting, of course. Exit at every town and take the business route thru town - stop signs are good - red lights are good. Just plan ahead so you don't have to slam on the brakes - let the engine decelerate on it's own as much as possible.
By the time you get home, your truck will be ready to work!
