What goes in to building my Superduty?

For some of the members who didn't have the opportunity to read this, it is the step by step process of building a Superduty..

What an honor! I think that that is just awesome, and very special! I would have LOVED to have seen my truck being built; as I ordered one too in 1999 as a 2000 model. I just think that is way too cool! And thank you for posting your experience so I can live the experience vicariously through you!

Re: What goes in to building my Superduty?

It wasn't my truck, but rather another member.
It's a great explaination of the entire process of the build.

Is it still possible to go to the plant and see your truck being assembled? Who do you see and how do you do it? ken

I'm pretty sure that idea is a non-starter. I don't remember how far back, but this idea was discussed and the general consensus was that trying to arrange individual tours of KTP was, for multiple reasons, not going to happen.

[/ QUOTE ] I don't know, but others have reported here than Ford stopped doing that about 3 years ago. So Bob Stevens (username Bob In Dallas) was one of the last people to have that opportunity.

You can still get a tour of the huge Kentucky Truck Plant (KTP) to watch the hundreds of workers and robots assemble SuperDuty trucks and Excursions, but you probably won't be able to follow your truck down the line. For the official Rally of TheDieselStop last year, about a hundred of our members took the tour of the Kentucky Truck Plant (KTP). Very, very impressive.

Robyn also arranged for about 40 members of TheDieselStop to take the tour of the International engine plant in Indianapolis. If you are a real gearhead, that's one tour you don't want to miss.
