Whens it to late to change an order?

Placed an order for a new truck on 8/20/01 and now I seen a new color that i just got to get (Arizona Beige). At what point is it to late to make changes?

Re: Whens it to late to change an order?

Scroll up to the top of this scren and click on "faqs", then on "99-up. All sorts of info there, including "During the order", from which the following order status sequence is quoted:

<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>

Unscheduled Clean

Submitted to plant and or scheduled: When a VIN is assigned and scheduled build week along with the estimated week of delivery (EWD, a.k.a. ETA) to the dealer.

Locked in: When production is locked and NO changes can be made (normally 10 days to 2 weeks before scheduled date).

Bucked: All parts on line ready for frame to roll.

Built

Released from plant / released to convoy. When a vehicle is released to convoy that means it is built and has been released from the plant.

Convoy or rail car assignment: Dealer EWD normally updated at this time.

If shipped by rail, arrival at the ramp (destination railhead)

If shipped by rail, Convoy (car-hauler truck) from ramp to dealer

The dealer sees it. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

So you can make some changes to the order until the status of the order changes to "locked in". You dealer can find out the status of the order with a phone call, or by reviewing his daily and weekly status reports of vehicles on order.
