How would I go about getting a X-Plan pin number??? I have the boss(wife) talked into letting me get an '03 or an '04.
Any employee of Ford Motor Company can give out a few X-Plan pins to "friends and neighbors" each year. So get to know someone who works for Ford.
Or if you want one bad, then go to any Ford assembly plant and find a nearby bar. Be in that bar at shift-change time. Buy a few rounds of brew and make friends with a few of those guys.
Or even easier, if you don't know where is a nearby Ford assembly plant, order your new truck from Cochise or Bobby Williams. They'll give you close to the X-plan price without your having to have a PIN.

If you can wait a year, join the EAA and get a PIN next year when you renew. Last year they got wise to everyone signing up just for the PIN, so they changed the rules to being a member over a year before getting one. (I got in under the wire, but I'm still a member)

I did the year wait. The best $80 that I spent (2-years now). Just got my priced DORA today (Thanks Bobby!) and saved $5,783 over MSRP.

I work for Continental Airlines and was able to save around $6000+ on my '01. Out of curiousity, is the X-Plan about the best price anyone can hope to get?

X plan price is a little less than invoice, plus you get the Ford rebate and/or financing incentives. Only a tiny few dealers will sell a new SuperDuty for less than invoice and still give you all the Ford rebates and incentives. So I think it's about the best you can expect. But there have been reports that some folks have bought a new SuperDuty for a lot less than invoice, and still collected the rebate or financing incentives.
I tend to take those stories with a grain of salt. Sort of like a locker room story about how successful some braggarts are with the fair maidens.
A good deal for a new SuperDuty is 500 over invoice. Right now you can get $1,500 cash back (rebate). So that's $1,000 under invoice. So I believe $1,000 under invoice including the rebate. So X-Plan right now is about $1,500 under invoice including the rebate. To me, that's a great deal.

Went to EAA site, it had "Land A Member" as an option. Any EAA member wants the credit, PM me your name, city, state, and (member # "optional"). Will join when I get the info. Thanks for the site.
