X-Plan SNAFU

Long story short, misread who is eligible for X-Plan(Partner Recognition)and ordered a truck to replace the one Ford is buying back. I can't use the PIN# I have, is there a number someone can give so I may call Ford and see if they can give me one? I bought the first truck on X-Plan when they were giving them away in 2003. Or is there any one out there who would be willing to give me a PIN# I can use? I can't afford the new truck with out the X-Plan and I already put down my deposit. It wasn't until after I put down the deposit that the dealership told me about the PIN# problem. I have a feeling it may be hard to get my deposit back if I can't buy the truck.
Thanks.

John

Re: X-Plan SNAFU

If this is a buy-back, I'd tell the dealer or the arbitration board, that if you can't get the X-plan price, you want a cash out, not a replacement & they own the truck - you don't want another Ford. I think they're messing with you. If they can run a program selling trucks under A-plan to everyone, they ought to be able to get you the x-plan again, even if you don't "qualify" this time.

Re: X-Plan SNAFU

They are definitely dinking you over!
As far as X-plan goes if you can't cut a deal that is better than X-plan without the PIN then you need to find another dealer. Right now negotiated prices are usually better than X-plan.

Noted, I will go back and see what I can get. I have made my mind up that I won't pay more than X-Plan. If they can't do it no new truck.

Yes the truck is a buy back.

Re: X-Plan SNAFU

Yes, most dealers will match the X-Plan price without a PIN. A few won't. Those with high overhead - such as downtown big city may be very reluctant to let you out the door with an X-Plan price.

If your dealer won't do it, I'll bet both of the two sponsors of ThedieselStop will be glad to do it for you. And they will drop-ship the new truck right back to your dealer for delivery. That should be a big kick for you.

Check with Bobby Williams at Sunrise Ford ( www.sunrisefordfleet.com ) or Cochise Willis at Randall Reed Ford ( http://www.teamfordtexas.com/fleet_team.html ) Mention you heard about them on TheDieselStop and you'll get the red carpet treatment.

[/ QUOTE ]Did they cash you out (gave you a check and took vehicle) of your truck and now you are purchasing a totally new truck? If not, and this is a replacement truck (swap one for one) then you are only supposed to pay (at most) the differance in the MSRPs. If this is a replacement, and it is equipped the same as your original truck, then you are not supposed to pay anything except for the mileage fee.

Re: X-Plan SNAFU

You are getting the run around for sure. If you had put mud flaps on the back or put a sprayed in bed liner they should give you the cost of it back as well. Sounds like you need to make a few more phone calls about your truck.
I have a 06 and they did something to it the first time I took it back and my MPG's have dropped at least 2.50 mpg and I don't have the power I had when it was new. It only has 3700 miles on it now.
Good Luck.

Thanks for the info Smokey. The dealer said they would sell to me at invoice but I'm not going for that. You are right, it would be good to see the reaction of the dealship if my new truck was shipped in.

My experience with X-plan has been that it is usually slightly higher than invoice. If they are offering you invoice then you're probably getting a pretty good deal.

You are the first person I've ever heard say that. I bought my '06 on the X plan in September. The price was roughly $300 under invoice. With another $2000 in rebates that were in effect then (I don't know about now), I got a truck that stickered at $49,985 for something like $41,000 plus tax, tag and title fees.

Well then I guess the Dealers I have dealt with are blowing the proverbial smoke up the keister. I bough a Volvo under the X-Plan and it was 2% over invoice. I was told that Ford was .5% over invoice.
Last week My boss tried to buy an F350 King Ranch and was told that Xplan could not be applied to the KRs? However, he was also offered the truck at what turned out to be the KBB invoice price. Dealer stated that this was better than Xplan anyway.
I dunno? I do know that the Volvo dealer presented to me a printout that showed Invoice and X-plan. Don't know if a Ford dealership will do the same.

On edit:
Because I hate to be wrong I just went to the Ford website and using my supplier code got an X-plan price on a new King Ranch
MSRP 52470
Xplan 46422

I then went to KBB and priced almost the same truck
MSRP 52465
Invoice 45975

This in line with what I was told that X-Plan was about .5 to 1% over invoice.

Re: X-Plan SNAFU

If a dealer is being up-front with you, they will show you their invoice from FMC. Clearly marked at the bottom will be the invoice price and a (lower) X-Plan price.
