Why hasn't anyboy tackled this job?? For those who want the F450/550 suspension capacities but want the power of a pickup. I know it will be expensive and time comsuming but to some of us its worth every dime and minute. I would think swaping the turbo and intakes would be easier and less expensive than trying to swap a F450/550 axles and suspension under a F350. Something of this nature will void your warranty so the egr and dpf delete might as well occur too. Once you get pass that all you have is tuning (which uses the same software programming) and the turbo possibly the intake and othe misc parts. If anybody knows more about the intake and turbo please respond. A chassis cab with egr and dpf delete tuned with h&s programmer has the same electronics/programming as a pickup, the rest will all be mechanical. Please don't clutter this forum with unhelpful information or negative comments on the idea.

Sorry but I find it almost hilarious when people look at the 20011-2012 SuperDuty and find themselves wanting the capacity of the F450 CC susepnsion with pickup power.
The answer is simple - the 2008-2010 F450 pickup.
The law and Ford's chicken#$%^ reactions took all the capability out of the F450 when they started building the 2011. I've had this discussion with Chris Brewer - clueless as to what his customers want.
The fact is if you really want a chassis cab with pickup power, you likely have to chnage the engine, including all the electronics. And keep in mind with the fed rule that they can't build anything ton and a half with more than 325hp (or something like that) there are all kinds of low performance goodies in a CC.

I don't think the law sets any HP limit. The law sets a test method with high load dyno runs and tunes with high HP can't pass it readily without more emissions hardware.
If the competitiors are in the 300 HP range then you compete at that level. Then you have the company buyers with hired drivers who know a 400HP engine will burn more fuel than a 325 HP engine.
I think Ford probably knows the market well enough to know that an F350 Tow Boss rebadged as the F450 pickup would sell and they would save a few hundred in production costs.
But I am one of those who want the 19.5 wheel brake package and the heavier axles too.

The PCM might be different but tuning is the same. But I know for a fact that an hs programmer can be swapped from a chassis to pickup with just an unlock code. The programmer doesnt even ask for you to select chass or pickup (like dodge). I've talked with hs many times the program is the same.

I also could really care less about the weight capacity. I want the brake capacity!

Thats the only differences I've found. There is no distinction in the heads or exhaust manifold for narrow or wide frame, there is however for build date.

The law that applies here is a law of physics. Unstoppable force meets immovable object. The chassis cabs are expected to haul and tow more and if they put the 400/800 engine in it, they would be breaking things left and right. This is why when the F450 first came out it was available with a higher tow capacity / lower horsepower or vise versa. And having owned one and towed, including much more than what it was rated for, it was plenty of power and with max+ loads, it would hop and kick. The chassis was simply not ready for more power.
I think a large part of it is voiding the warranty added to all the cost. By the time you buy the c/c, pay for a bed, then she'll out for all the upgrades it's a lot of money to shell out for a truck that wouldn't have a drivetrain warranty.
Not helpful information. But I pull the same loads my brother does and he has a f450 cab and chassis. My f350 pickup will drive by him like he's standing still pulling the same load. I've done it. However his truck does stop better than mine and thats a big factor. The truck squats about the same but I also have to inflate the airbags to 95lbs. I don't know if any of you have seen the bumper sticker that says "I void warranties" well I've got one, so stay ON TOPIC please.

What I want is a 2013 F450 Pickup with front and rear a/c heated seats but with the suspension and brake and wheels like the 08-10 f450 pickups do. The 08-10 navigation and interior isn't any comparsion to the 11 and up.
