Any good suggestions for a front hitch?

I used the front hitch on my 2004 quite a bit. I looked around on line last night to find only a hitch that had the 2" receptacle way too low for my tastes. Has anyone got a hitch to recommend? Steve

i am also looking for one. i found this one:

Front Hitch for 2012 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty - Curt C31018

i was gonna call them and see if it interfered with anything in the front like my 2006. i never did put one on as i did not want to lose the OEM fog lights, and i was also worried about blocking airflow to the radiator on the 6.0L. i want to put bikes up there for when we camp.

That is the one that I think is too low! hahaha. I saw a picture of it on a truck and it hangs well below the bumper.

I worry that I would be off-roading somewhere and it would catch on something...

Mostly the front hitch on my last truck got used as a place to put my Warn 9500 winch. I did also use the hitch to carry a dirtbike a few times.

I believe mine is the Curt one linked to above.

It is a little low, but I don't know where else you would put it? You can't really go higher, there's nothing there to attach it to, and the radiator/coolers are in the way and you'd be blocking the airflow to them.

There's already a factory brace that runs across the front at the height of the hitch, so you're not really losing any clearance.

Here's a couple pics of my setup.

P.S. - I love my front hitch. There's no replacement for the ultimate ability it gives you to manoever a trailer when you need it.

WAXY,
Who's grille insert is that? May I ask where you got it?

Are you satisfied with fit/finish?

Any info appreciated,
STEVE.

etrailer.com

comes out in the middle of the wind deflector.

Use a goal post by Yakima in mine to put kayaks over the cab.

Also great for parking the cargo trailer in tight spaces.

It's from AirHawk. I'm very happy with it. It's well made and the fit/installation are top notch.

Air Hawk Industries : Mud Flaps - Grille Inserts - Box Liners

You should be able to knock 10-15% off it you talk to Dan directly.

Thanks WAXY.

Appreciate the link! Been looking for a nice S.S. insert for our '08 truck and the new 2012 also.

Surprisingly difficult to find inserts anymore. Seems everyone is going with complete grille replacements now-a-days.

I'll be getting in touch with Air Hawk!

Thanks Again,
STEVE.

Bite the Bullet and go all the way?

You might consider a front clip which would/could include a front hitch as well as a winch, etc. Here is mine. Just an alternative idea.

How much weight does that add? How much can the hitch handle? Could it push 1K (10K trailer) 40' up a curb on a regular basis?

Thanks

Check the Ranch Hand website. I have moved all kinds of stuff with this..boats, trailers, etc. It is welded into the bumper itself and I am not sure you can break it. I am not sure of the weight of the front clip, again the website would have that, but I have had them on all my Ford SD trucks. I run the roads in South TExas and often you come across hogs or deere and this evens the game a bit if you can not avoid them. ;-) 2011 Ford F350 Legend Front Bumper
