Probably alot of money. Besides the controller, wiring harness, and possible ECM tuning, you will most likely need new seats. There is a bower motor in the seats that pumps the a/c through them and holes in the leather to allow the air to flow through them too.

Not saying you can't do it, but is the juice worth the squeeze?

So now I am in the same boat. New truck, was supposed to have it and doesn't. I guess I will let you know what I find out...

Did you order it with those options? If it was mis built, I would either not accept the truck or ask for a MAJOR price adjustment to offset the inconvience.

Dak,

Did you order either the Lariat "Interior Package" or the Lariat "Ultimate Package"? From what I can tell that is the only way to get the heated/cooled seats.

Interior package was supposed to be ordered and it wasn't. I did ask for verification and was told it had the a/c and heated seats which out of that package was the only thing I really wanted (I don't care about memory seats - I am the ONLY driver)... I don't know what the dealer is going to do - I haven't gotten the call back. All of the suggestions given are good ones above. To those that have PM'd, I tend to agree that having the dealer install the factory heated cooled seats may not be the best of ideas...

This is a very complicated deal as it involves the selling of the truck from under me back in July. They took my trade and sold it so I can't go back to what I had. They couldn't find another one in the country like it - so they ordered this one. I have been in all sorts of loaners up to now.

A little history: This one was supposed to be here back in September, finally was built and got here now.... I was upside down on my trade so I put a deposit down on it. I made sure to put the deposit towards this truck and put refundable in the wording - but that just means a better lawsuit should it get to that...

It just keeps on going. I am the point of just asking for my "deposit" back and walking... Something that is right will happen - just seems like something is telling me NOT to get this truck at this time.

If you have accepted the truck and are other wise happy with it, tell the dealer that you want the Premium Care and Diesel Care (read up a bit on the Ford ESP site to find out what the top plans are) for free. You may not be able to add the cooling to the seats but any upholestery shop can install seat heaters. Just a thought.

Thanks Olli - I may try to do both of those... Waiting to hear back from the dealer to find out what they want to do... Yeah, I am happy as (explitive) with everything else!

What a difference in how it drives compared to the March build F250 Short Bed, FX4 I had a as loaner. Not lag off the line, feels quicker, ride smoother... All of the other things are what they should be...

Just a little miffed about the missed option that you can't add later.

To the OP - sorry if I hijacked your original thread! Trying to stay on the heated/cooled seats discussion.

Sort of. I have it, but haven't signed for it yet. That is supposed to take place on saturday - There are still things to work out now that they have told me it costs too much to put the heated and a/c seats in.

WOW,, Dak it sounds like you found a really crappy dealership. I mean, is this the first time they ever ordered a truck? For crying out loud. I would be extremely pissed. I'm glad I found a truck outfitted the way I am happy with on the lot. (You can't tell me they can't find a truck like you want anyplace? TEXAS out west? ANYWHERE?) I call BS on that....
Good luck on getting what you want out of the deal,, and I doubt I would go back to that dealer for anything, to include an oil change after I get things settled.

It has been a "comedy" (a tragic comedy) of errors for a long time now... I tried serached for trucks and it is tough - even in Texas. Here are the MAJOR options I want: 2011, F350, Diesel, 4x4, SRW, Long bed, 5th Wheel prep, camper package, Navigation, 40/20/40 front seats, heated/cooled seats, Tailgate step, remote start, rear view camera, block heater (for those Frigid Florida winters - j/k)... Running boards and spray in bed liner I want, but could get after market...

I really don't want a sun roof, FX4, or 20" tires on it.

Trust me, we tried dealer locates and I could get close - I did find one King Ranch that was close, but it was a 64k truck and obviously didn't have the 40/20/40 front. They didn't want to pay to ship it either.

Now this has cost them dearly as I have had a loaner for 5 months...

I've actually never felt depressed getting a new vehicle before. Don't get me wrong, it is an AWESOME vehicle and I love to drive it - but I used the a/c seats every day and the wife likes the heated seats! (I can sorta fix the heated seats - they sell auto heating pads but it isn't the same)

Can you get heated/ac seats in the 40/20/40 configuration? My truck has the console and the heated/ac seats. I found my truck as you speced with the Lariat Ultimate, fx4 long bed fifth wheel prep and bed liner on my dealers lot. It was one of the few long beds besides the duallies. Why can't they just order you an new truck the way you want it and sell this one to somebody else?

If you have confirmation that you asked for and ordered the A/C and heated seats....you contact Ford Customer care or the Area Manager. Sorry, if they screwed up the order Ford needs to make it right, including reordering a truck on an expedite if possible. I have to believe Ford can cover the installation of a heated/AC seat setup if they in fact made the mistake.

This assume you in fact asked for it and it shows on your order.
