I had mine done about a month ago and I had them take the bed bolts out before they sprayed it. It just makes it easier if the bed has to come off for some reason. The line-x guy said he thought it looked better to spray over the bolts. He said you can use a hole saw to cut the line-x around the bolt but then you still have to respray the whole floor panel to the first seam.
It was hand sanded. They didnt take the bed bolts out but did take the four chrome tie down spots out and put those back on after. They also took the lift gate off and took that somewhat apart to spray it.
make sure you double check your bed bolts after its done. last one I did at the dealership they left this important part out.... the part where they screw em back in that is. lol
The aftermarket guys are more careful looks like from your pics
I had Line-X in Denver do my 1991 Jeep... every surface, inside and out, except for the seats, steering wheel and windows.
It is a great product. They used a coating that was darn near 3 mm thick... no skimping... but added a ton of weight. I ordered a black F-350 so in a few years when the paint gets scratched, I plan on Line-Xing the outside.
Looks good!!! Nice product... thanks for the pix...
Does anyone know if they spray linex on the tailgate if you have the tailgate step down option?
Not sure if they can spray the tail gate if you have the step down tail gate since it's plastic. Another option is to remove the pole and plastic cover, and order the cover plate and hardware from ford. You still keep the step but get rid of the annoying pole and plastic cover. I did this to mine before I had it sprayed and love it. Here is a link to another guy that did the same with pictures and instructions. Removed Tailgate Handle, Kept Step, Spayed-In Bed Liner
