The $950 includes labor.

In these trucks the low and high beam use the same bulb, so the retrofit is for both. The way it works is there is a solenoid in the headlight housing and there is a cutoff shield in there that cuts the beam off above a certain height when you have the low beams on. When you turn the high beams on the solenoid activates and moves the shield out of the way so you illuminate everything.

I'll post up some pictures soon. Heading out to take some shots here in a little bit.

As far as how hard it is, I don't really know since I didn't do it myself. I just did the wire harness and that was easy.

Is there any light on the dash telling you that there is a lamp out? I did a retrofit like this on my 2004 dodge. The "lamp out" light was always on because the ballasts were powered through relays from the battery. I also needed a 55 watt load always on the line to keep the power on. It was a pain!

No, I haven't seen anything like that. When I had just one bulb in and not the other it would make a strange noise when I turned the lights on, but that's it.

The way this wire harness is set up everything is routed to the lights the same way as the stock ones, so everything seems to function normal.

Here are some pictures I took last night. I don't think the pictures of the front of the truck do it justice, but the ones through the windshield give a good idea of how good the light output is.

Here is low beam, you can see where the cutoff shield gives the beam a sharp cutoff above a certain point so you aren't blinding other drivers. There is also a little "jog" up and to the right so with low beams you still illuminate a little higher on the right side of the road:

Here is high beam output. The shield moves and then everything above is now illuminated. This is a big difference from stock where I could hardly see a difference between lows and highs.

Front of truck with low beams:

Front with high beams. In real life I see a much bigger difference between the two for some reason, but the photos don't seem to quite do it justice:

very nice, i have 55w hids in my stock headlights and 35w in my fogs and i get the occasional flash from oncoming drivers.

so i bought the recon projector units and installed my hid kit in there and was sorely disappointed. i didnt know there were projectors for halogen bulbs and projectors for hid bulbs. if i knew that from the beginning i would have just sent my stock units to lightwerkz or your place.

now im stuck with these stupid recon units lol. but my buddy has a pair of audi projectors that i will retrofit into my recon units. shouldnt be that big of a deal since they use the cheaper grey butyl sealant rather than fords infamous black adhesive and since there are projectors there already i just need to fasten the new ones in.

yours looks really good and shows the effect a good set of projectors can have on driver safety on the road. i do alot of driving and thats very important.

I would think so. There is a lot of room in these headlight housings. I may be wrong, but I think the FX-R's are based on the TL projectors as well. Matt at TRS could say for sure.

Where did you get the bulbs for the fogs? I'd like to get some 4300k bulbs for my fogs, since they no longer match the headlights.

Show us some pictures when you get a chance! Thanks!

I don't know how Black Flames Customs did it. When I looked at the back of the housing it looked stock, except that I could see the back of the projector housing sticking through the rubber boot where you would normally plug the bulb into. It looked very clean.

If you're going to do it yourself I'd google the HID Planet forum and read there. Lots of guys doing their own retrofits on that site.

Looks really nice fdny! I like the angel eyes. I considered doing those, but in the end decided not to. But looking at yours I kind of wish I did!
