Something to keep in mind:
I'm confident that the motors that fold the mirrors in and out have a calculated number of "cycles" that they have been designed for. By making them automatic with Key on / Key off, thus dramatically increasing the number of cycles, you're just asking for premature failures.
I'm not sure if the motors are serviceable independent of the mirrors, or maybe it's not a concern.
just my 2 cents
Then we are going to have a problem. I ALWAYS fold my mirrors in when I leave the Truck. At home in the garage, at the store you name it. But in my case I do not want them to go in automatically. I park to close to the wall in the garage....and no, i don't want to stay further away...lol
Wow is right considering the price for the option on my truck was less than 150 bucks. A parts dept guy told me it would cost around $1500.00 to replace one if I were to knock it off. I'm gonna try real hard not to knock one off.
As I've already stated there is a source of power everything '08 mirrors which are taken off new trucks for $450 a pair but they have the end connectors cut off and may have a minor scratch or two. (the ones my friends and I received were mint condition).
Might be a problem if they were automatic, thats if for some reason you turned the key on and off a couple times in a row, do this start your truck fold mirrors in and out a couple times in a row, you will see what happens!!!
