Wow. All fact based too. Haha. You just know it. Right up there with I just feel it. Good enough for me. Who cares about facts when we just know it? LOL.
There's a ton of em on youtube. Just click on the poster for that vid. One thing I found odd was I couldn't find one vid for the new 2011 Duramax, and there is very little info on it.
What do you expect them to say, that it sucks? Sure, it's not like they are biased or anything. If the thing was worse than the 6.4L, they would certainly tell us. Just like they told us that the 6.0L was going to suck compared to the 7.3L. They are always honest with us because they love us.

yo stroke, what F?? I am entitled to my opinions. none of the crap you are spuing is fact based either. its the hype of the new truck but on the good side. sorry, I am not impressed by it. So I am saying what I feel about it. Its not like the truck has just been invented and none of us have seen one or heard about one, or heard about the type of technology. Its ALL familiar stuff, just finally put into a truck. You one of those ford spy guys or something? One of them guys on the payroll that web surf all day trying to keep the buzz in the direction ford wants it? those guys that make the trucks more expensive for the rest of us? or are you actually a real guy? someone that uses his truck, someonethat has been on the road, that has asked questions and more importantly been asked questions about the truck. heard the horror stories of some folks have had becasue they got a bad one. you know there have been those. well what is it? you think there ain't anyone out there thinking along the lines I am? maybe we could meet up somewhere, and have drink and talk it over or something. i am in south florida, fort laud area where are you?
i do think the truck is going to be a nightmare. its going to be harder to fix and certainly more expensive. i am not impressed with what ford has done. i know they are catering to the speed demons, not to guys that need a truck to work for them, and last, even if it is not the fastest thing on the road. they are catering to the gadget guys, the yuppy guys, the kids that got nothing else in their lives but the truck. look at the following dodge has has because of that engine? and for years it was a very low powered engine but it did the job, and it did it well, and everyday. those diehard people love'em. and their resale is better than ford's right now. I was ford fan my whole life. had lots of them. most were really really good trucks. others were not. this one to me looks like more of the same, only worse. but again we will both see. but until then, how about you lay off me, post your side and I will post mine. there is certainly room for both. and by the way, i am not running out to get me a new dodge. its not enough right now for me to get rid of the paid for ford, even if it is an auto, and sic-0.
sound fair??

AND BY THE WAY gentlemen, I truely hope this new truck is more than a success, I hope it actually the downfall of some others. would be real nice to see a lot less tundras on the road, so toyota does not get into the big truck market. those hinos are already just about taking over International and F650 trucks in the flatbed tow trucks here in south florida.
I do not wish bad things on ford, would love to see this truck, not just be on top, but to completely dominate, by far. I just don't think it will.

All of these new diesels are nothing compared to their older counterparts. It seems like for every one guy that likes his, there's a handful that hate theirs. And their entitled to their opinions just like everyone else. I certainly won't bag on them for doing so, just agree to disagree. I think soon it will be which engine is better at sucking, not which is just better? Maybe things will turn out for the better. The technologies in these engines have been long used in European countries with success.
I think you hit the nail on the head, 6SPD. Speed Demons and gadget heads get catered to a little too much these days. 400HP and 750lb.ft torque and there are still those that want to chip it to hell and back once they get their hands on it. Why can't you be happy with what you got?

You know? You are right. I let it get too personal and I am sorry about that. You are right, we are both entitled to our opinion. I don't use my truck for work, it sits outside for a week at a time. I yank a 5th wheel around every once in a while and maybe put 3K a year on it. So, I am hardly the authority on someone who works everyday with their truck. If it breaks, I really don't care other than having to shell out some $$ to fix it. And I get it, when the thing doesn't work or breaks down for weeks at a time, that guy is not able to put bird on his table.
However, I DO like the creature comforts, leather seats, SYNC system, gadgets galore. Have a BMW and a Black lab so I guess that makes me the yuppie. What was really interesting to me at the auto show is the emotion that is around this truck. You can see it here! These 2 guys from Ford sat in the booth at the Powerstroke display and got absolutely hammered by customers. Non-stop. I must have seen 20 customers come up and come very short of screaming for their 6.0 or 6.4 problems, you name it. Was it justified? Sure, these guys dropped 50+K on these trucks and in a lot of cases got a POS out of the deal. Heck, when I bought mine, I only wanted a 7.3 because of the "stories" I had heard.
I have owned Fords all my life too, had some great ones and some real POS ones. I can honestly say that these guys seemed to do a great job of addressing all of the issues, they knew them well. They also stated over and over that Ford couldn't screw this one up. They did, and game over for the 3/4 ton truck market. I will say this, it shocked me that GM didn't even bring one 3/4 ton truck to the largest auto show of the year. They had a couple of Denalis, a couple of avalanches and that was it. Dodge had a few Cummins, but no information or displays about them at all. Ford came out swinging and I do respect them for it.
So, regardless of who gets to eat crow, if you are ever in Colorado, PM me and drinks on me. If I am ever in the sunshine state, offer stands!

COOL
where in CO? I love it there. been a few times, mostly the springs and surrounding area, never been out west.
3k a year? almost a waste to have a diesel.
and i am not sure how many auto shows you been to, but there is always "emotion" around the anticipated new stuff. always. happens at all the shows, rv, boat, etc. i hope ford gets it straight this time. and they had no choice but to come out swinging, the trucks are really their biggest thing, and with the problems of the 6.0 and 6.4, plus the economy and rise in fuel, many people that do not really need a truck, only want it, are not buying them now. this is the one thing that for some reason the bean counters at ford and dodge (here in south fl) just do not get. we got more f250 short bed trucks sitting here, and almost no 350 long beds. and they did have 350's but they got sold. those shorties are not moving as fast. i am hoping the run on lets make my truck super fast with chips, dips, chains and whips is dieing down.
and i like the creature comforts too, king is my truck of choice. I did not like when they took away chrome bumpers, the painted ones chip real bad, I do not like the fact that there was no stick in it, even when it first came out. but it was the only trim level i was willing to buy with an auto. had thre of them. i just did not like the auto, and had to get all the way to an f450 with 4.30 gears to pull my trailer the way my sticks did.

That's the same thing they told us after 1/3 of our 6.0 truck were down all the time.
I guess I got the 2 out of 3 that had no real down time.

I live right outside Boulder. I had a 5.4 Expedition and absolutely hated it so when it came time to get a truck, diesel seemed like only option. They seem to do quite a bit better in the altitude also cause of the tuning. I agree on the lots, Colorado sells a TON of trucks. Roll by the dealer and tons of loaded short boxes. I can't remember actually even seeing many 450s on the lot. We will be using it a ton more this year, we bought a 5er last year and want to spend the summer checking out the west with the kids. I think the old truck will do just fine, but I have to admit that taking a 200K plus truck over a bunch of 11K passes has me a bit nervous. Had a 96 before this one that was a 5 speed and loved driving it, you can imagine what the wife thought.
