2013 King Ranch VS Platinum

I was back at my dealer today to get the Ford factory alarm installed which they threw in with the deal. I had an hour to burn so looked at all the 2013's they had. They had 4 KR F350's loaded and two Platinums. The Platinum's are the high end truck, but have lower window stickers. The KR's price is being driven up by OWL All Terrains that are 1300.00 and A KR Chrome package that is like another 700.00. The tires are a no charge item on the platinum...same Michelin's. Chrome wheels on the KR are also 1000.00 bucks. The Platinum 20 inch wheels are part of the no charge Platinum package that is part of only a 700.00 base price difference between a KR and a Platinum. The rest of the options are the same price. All 4 of the KR's had windows of 66.6K with both Platinum's being 65.1. The Platinum seems to be a much better deal...it can be had for 1500 less than a KR with the same options. I think the grille looks a lot better as well.

Hmm, seems like the difference lies in the KR leather surfaces.

The Platinum has a higher base price by 700.00 so that would make no sense. The KR buyer is having to pay for tires and wheels that are a no charge on the Platinum. The leather in the Platinum is might nice!

They heated steering wheel is a nice feature too. My dad had it in his range rover and I thought it was just a novelty until I drove it a few times in the winter. Man was that thing nice!

Cobra,

What kind of factory alarm are you referring to? Do the 2013 KRs and Platinums not come with a factory alarm?

Thanks,

Rock

The trucks come with a passive alarm in the key I believe. This is an additional alarm that will honk the horn when a door is opened or glass is broken. Ford's version of a standard aftermarket alarm. I can get the part number if you want.
