2015

I know it's early, but is there any info from FMC about a body style change for 2015?
Thanks.

Rumors I've read:

1. All new MY2015. (Seems unlikely to release a new F-150 and SD in the same year)

2. All new MY2016 in 2015. (Maybe)

3. Another refresh for MY2015. (Probably)

It was suggested on here that anything new would be released at the Texas state fair, so we should have some clues shortly.

I'm wondering what they plan on doing with the tow ratings. From what I can tell the new 3500 Dodge Crewcab can tow 4000 lbs more then my 450! I wouldn't expect Ford to just sit idly by and let another manufacturer past them by...

I've owned three SD trucks, with my latest being an 08'. Great trucks, but dated to the max. I want something different and I'm needing to scratch the itch. I'm liking the new Dodge, but would rather buy a redesigned Ford if I knew they were close.

If the manufacturers comply with SAE ratings, the numbers will go down.

Just curious which rating would likely go down? I read in Truck Trend yesterday that Dodge claims that they can meet or exceed all of their current numbers once they implement the standard.

Is there a particular one the 3 manufacturers cannot meet at the moment or are taking some liberties with?

Well, Toyota's went down 300 or 400 lbs. this year. The BIG 3 all elected to not adopt the new ratings. If the new ratings were not going to be lower, there was no reason not to use the new ratings.

That can't be. You can tow a 488,000 pound space shuttle with a Toyota. Saw it on TV so it has to be true.

Only with optional upgrades. You may have missed the fine print.

I read the article about standardized tow ratings, it seems like we have a 3 party system for real. No-one wants to play by the rules they wish to impose on others.

You have to order the Aisin 6 speed HD Transmission and the 4.10. Which is coming from the CC, 4500, 5500 Chassis trucks.
