Dealer has 4 '13 lariats and one of them is optioned right for me. Stickers at $61xxx. What would be a good price on this truck?
Personally since we are talking a truck on the lot I would get an X Plan pin from someone on the board here and go with that. My truck stickered for $66,985.00 but I paid $61,977.32 using X-Plan before incentives. It isn't as a good of a deal as negotiating back of invoice for an ordered truck but it is close.
Good luck!

Ok so I test drove a '13 spec'd out just the way I would buy except its a 250 and black and I want a 350 and silver or sterling gray. Salesman, who is a friend of mine, said I should go x plan minus rebates because its better than invoice minus rebates. This true? How much off do you get with x plan? I saw your price Don and thats an awesome deal. Hope you got your truck Friday!

Thanks Tom, I am loving the truck! I believe X plan would be better than invoice depending on the dealership. For example X plan locks in caps on things like doc fees etc. and prevents add-ons they like to stack on top, as well as I believe it removes the advertising fee (+ or - $1k). With that said, you can do better than X plan by negotiating back of invoice but your success would depend on relationship / leverage with the dealership.
For example: My trucks invoice was $61,950.12. X plan was $61,977.32. So only $27.20 over invoice, however the doc fee was $75 instead of $400 and I saved the $962 advertising fee. Who knows what other fees I would have seen but that actually got me $10 lower than the $1,250 back of invoice I had negotiated with my local dealership.
I hope this info helps. I know how it can be a daunting task buying a truck and making sure you are paying a fair price. I would go with what your friend suggested if I was you.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.

One more thing. If you go with an X plan I know some people of the board have given them out in the past but I didnlt have any luck, probably end of year thing, who knows. Anyway, I ended up paying the $50 membership fee to the MCA (Mustang Club of America) and got my pin there. I had it in minutes unlike some other methods I have heard of that make you wait months.
Great thanks Don. Dealership by me doesn't move a lot of trucks, and they have had the same 6 '12's in front of their showroom for months now. My buddy already told me x plan minus rebates, which to me is a good deal. I'll look into that MCA when it comes time for my truck and wife's Edge. Thanks again for your help and I'm jealous of your new ride!
The window sticker on mine was 66,045. I paid 57,400 plus TTL. Texas Motors in Fort Worth. Easy to deal with the third time around with trucks listed with best prices on their website.

That is a good price! I stopped buying from Texas Motors back in the 90's over an extended warranty issue. With that kind of price I might have to check them out again.

Hope to see your truck around town.
I've bought three from them in the last five years. Coworker will be over there tomorrow trying to snag the 2013 KR they have listed on their website....for about 9K off 66K window. I use to buy from 5 STAR, but they irritated me on service to an 04 6.0 that gave me fits.

I looked at their website and that Blue Jeans Lariat is 8k off sticker. Thats unreal!!! I will have to show that to my salesman and ask him to match it or I'm on a plane.

The sales manager told me they were expecting 12-14 trucks in this week. Three of them will be platinums. Their prices are fair. I looked at the Blue Jeans Lariat...nice truck. The KR has options mine didn't..namely 5th wheel hitch which I wasn't interested in.
