I am selling my 1999, 7.3 liter diesel and buying a 2013, 6.2 liter gasoline F350. I was looking for current info on the truck and engine.
I looked over the 11-up Gas Engines forum and it seems like its been a month or so since there was a post. I looks like the forum has a lot of pages in the past but little action recently.
Are the gas engines that good or has everything been hashed over already, in the past two years?
Thanks for the reply Jesse 1. I guess that this is also primarily a diesel engine site. I know that I have long found good info about my 7.3 liter diesel engine here.
As I get older and tow less I think that the gas engine will be a good choice for me now.
Utah66, you will enjoy driving the 6.2 gas.....it runs smooth and quiet, but still has a bit of growl when stepped on.....lol... there's only been a few times that I wished I still had a diesel..but those are fading too, especially when I pull up to the gas pump to fill the 36 gal tank.

Thanks for the input bowhuntwi1. I just heard that my new truck will be built on Saturday December first. I don't know whether to be concerned that it will be built on overtime or pleased that it will be built soon. I used to hear horror stories about cars that were built on Mondays. Too many workers hungover or missing on Mondays was the story. I guess there are myths and stories about everything.
Anyway I am looking forward to getting the new truck.
I was concerned that my 2012 was built on a Friday, thinking perhaps folks in a hurry to get home, or weekend plans on their mind. Not to worry, 12kmiles on my new truck now and not one single problem. I would'nt give it a second thought. I think you'll be happy!

Good luck with your new SD! The 6.2L is solid...solid...solid. If ordering...and going to tow frequently...I'd recommend the 4.30 gears. Other than that...no worries.
