V10 with 6 speed auto?

Does anyone know if the 2011 V10 (cab chassis) will be available with the 6R140, or will it just be the old 5R110?

Probably have to wait for the big truck order guide to come out. I did see a FMC video, tranny engineers talking about the new 6 speed and they never mentioned it being used with the V-10 though they frequently mentioned the 6.2 & 6.7 saying there was a specific model for each of the new engines.

The V-10 gasser is gone for pickups. The 5.4L gasser is gone. The 6-speed manual hand shaker is gone.

The only gasoline engine available in the 2011 pickups will be the 6.2L V8, mated to the 6R140 tranny. But that is an amazing tranny, including a "manual" mode that you can use to shift yourself. You don't mash on a clutch - you just mash on a button (or a paddle). But the tranny won't shift unless you tell it to shift - provided you don't exceed the engine RPM red line or lug the engine. So you can "row your own" the same way you would do in a Ferrari with paddle shifter tranny.

F-450 and F-550 chassis cabs are different. The old V-10 with 5R110 automagic tranny is still available (with XL or XLT trim), but with limited other options. But no stick shift, and no auto-stick 6R140 with the gasser. The 6.7L diesel and 6R140 tranny is std in Lariat and optional in other chassis cabs.

Too bad Ford discontinued the V10 on 450/550 Lariats. I wanted to build another F550 Lariat. I wish they would at least offer black interior on the XLT, that would make it more bearable to lose the lariat V10. The V10 450/550 lost the ESOF option too.

Looks like a bodatious V-10 to me. Congrats and good on ya. Show some pics when it arrives. You watch, the V-10 will be the most wanted used Ford truck on the market, now and in the future for a long, long time. You're gonna love that rig.

I'm glad I bought my 09, because I was able to order what I wanted. If Ford would put a black interior in an XLT, I would consider one again. That light gray cloth in a work truck is a STUPID idea! It sucks that Ford has killed the V10 in the Lariat 450/550's. My 09 stickered at $49,800, and I paid $39,900 on a special order.
