Has anybody seen one on a lot. I was looking around last weekend and could not find any, just a bunch of 6.4's sitting around collecting pollen. Are the gassers being produced. I really want to test drive an 08 with a Triton v-10. thanks

I test drove a 5.4. they had 3 of them and 2 6.4psd they had no v10 trucks to drive and that is what I really wanted to test out. I have owned 2 othe 2 valve 10s but have never drove the 3 valvers. I'm tossing around the idea of trading in my 05 6.0 and ordering a v10 2008 I figured it will cost me approx .04 per mile more to drive the v10 than the 6.0 due to the miles per gallon spread and the fuel price spread, so I could drive the v10 approx 100000 miles before the diesel would pay off financialy and thats not even figuring the high cost of diesel fuel filters-oil changes- air filters- 2 batteries and the lost time going in for flashes all the time and warrantee work while my truck sits at the dealer....rare that the 10 ers break down unless you put plugs in and don't know how to torq them correctly. anyhoo still debating WHAT TO DO ???? any one else have any thoughts ??? What kind of 5.4 did you test drive? A 250 or a 350? Was it a slushbox or a stick? What were your thoughts?
I've always been a fan of the 5.4 but never owned one in a Super Duty before. I see them all over on the roads up here (not '08s, just in general) but they're all 250 5.4's.

I was always a get the biggest motor possible kind of guy and the older 5.4s while very dependable seemed to lack the muscle I need. Now the 5.4 in the 2008 SD F250 super cab FX4 I drove the other day really suprized me. It had great responce and lots of acceleration I was impressed how the 5.4 has come along since 2003. I need to drive a v10 to see how much different they feel, now I understand I was not towing when I test drove the 5.4 but just the same it did feel good. That's great! I have a few basic mods that I have planned for my 5.4 right away (intake, exhaust, chip, etc.) but I'm still thinking with the combination of the 6 speed manual and 4:10's in the rear that I should be good to go. I'll be towing too, cars mostly but very rarely for long distance so I'm not worried about that...

Was that at Monaco Ford in Glastonbury? I was snooping around looking for some of the new 2008's and the only ones around that I could find were the ones at Monaco. They had one supercab with the 6.4L and the rest (all crew cabs) were all gassers.

Boatbumm....that is close to the exact same set up that I am thinking about, I was thinking that there would be more V10's on the lot since yhat little dispute with IH halted production for awhile.

Theres a dealer in st cloud minnesota that has 3 or 4 v10 2008 SDs i drove the 2008 F350 CC 4x4 lairet.... one sweet ride! power seems very good, I currently have a 04 250 CC 4x4 with 42000 on it but im considering ordering the V10, i figured i could put about 120000 to 130000 miles on it to catch up to the cost of the diesel option, not including cheaper oil changes and such, anyone else considering the V10 in place of a 6.0?
