08 V10 transmission question

Is the five speed automatic transmission in the 08 V10 the same transmission as that that is on the 08 6.4l diesel engine? I did notice that it costs the same.

Thanks

Re: 08 V10 transmission question

I'll second Pappy's comment. The torqshift is a great transmission. Holds speed on grades, makes intelligent upshift/downshift decisions. And, doesn't seem to be many complaints on it from anyone on these boards, which is sayin' something.

Re: 08 V10 transmission question

I have to say I am extremely impressed with the performance of the V10 and 5R100. I feel it performs as well as my early '99 7.3 and 4R100. I did notice though that while towing with cruise control on, it will downshift further than it needs to maintain speed on grades, so I just don't tow with cruise.
