2002 V10 which spark plugs?

I have a 2002 Econoline Van with a V10 and was wondering which would be the best spark plug to use. I have stuck with Motorcraft because of plug blow out issues. But the Motorcraft plugs I am using now only have 45,000 miles on them and they are starting to miss. They are all tight in the head and the only thing I can think is that when I towed last summer and had it working hard that the plugs got deposits on them or something.
Anyway, whats your thoughts on the plugs
Thanks
Andrew.

Don't use Bosch plugs. I used them in my Jeep and within 3K miles I had two of the insulators come apart. I like Splitfire and NGK.

Re: 2002 V10 which spark plugs?

Most V10 guys recommend using Motorcraft plugs... At almost 50k miles, it's probably time. Make sure you clean out the plug area before removing the old plugs as they tend to collect dirt in the recesses. Also make sure you use a good anti-seize on the plug threads, di-electric grease on the boot connection, and torque to the proper spec when installing the new plugs.

I always have luck with the NGK here.

Re: 2002 V10 which spark plugs?

I changed mine at 100k and they looked perfect !! I used Motorcraft...
If its missing it might be something other than the plugs...
I had to replace one coil pak as it was cracked but it still worked....

I would check all wires first...

Good luck

Tim
