3.73 Limited Slip for Manual Trans

Anyone know a reason the 3.73LS is not available with the manual transmission for the V10?

Have your dealer check again. According to the 2000 truck manual, it is an option on the XL, XLT, and Lariat packages. There is no mechanical reason why a limited slip cannot work with a manual tranny.

Upon doing some checking on the fordfleet.com site where you can "build" your own truck, the limited slip diff is only an option with the 4.3 rear end with a 5 speed V10. Go figure...

A 3.73 limited-slip axle is available with the V10/5-spd, if you size up to the F350SRW.

Re: 3.73 Limited Slip for Manual Trans

....the FORD limited-slip is pretty worthless. If I had to do over, I would order an "open" rear end and get either a detroit or gearless locker, or maybe one of those new lockrights and have it installed.

Re: 3.73 Limited Slip for Manual Trans

Thanks for the info. I think I may work it that way. I will already have $243 to put towards something aftermarket if needed.
