Upon every shift
I have a Superchip,Sonnex,tri-springs and the tranny has started to make a very PRONOUNCED and irritating Squeeek when I give it some gas and it shifts (into Any Gear) .
The tranny works fine and I have recently had it machine flushed at dealership but that made no damn difference
Happen to anyone else?
Is it the TC or the clutch bands etc...?
What is the FIX and how much ?
Thank you for ANY info
BTW....The Squeak sounds like a Slipping 'fan' belt but it is VERY obvious that it is the tranny (yes I am positive)
Thanks,
Jon

I suspect what you know: You tranny is sick and needs a good doctor. Sorry brother hope it turns out ok.
I suspect the lining is gone on one or more of your clutch packs and is doing the metal to metal thing.
Belt slip squeek trany noises are never good.
Wont be cheep, and if it were mine as long as it was at the doctors I would have it bullet proofed. Call the guys at JET and see what they recommend.

Under hard acceleration, my truck has a belt-like squeal. If yours is the same noise that I'm hearing on my truck, then I don't think your mods are the problem. Unfortunately, I don't know what it could be.
Perhaps Mark Kovalsky (member #1210) can offer some insight. I'm pretty sure he works on Ford trannys for a living.
Not that you want to hear this, but mine is going in Wednesday for a replacement 4R100 because of a similar noise. Started as a constant high pitched ringing/squeal and would change pitch with accel/decel and gear changes. Now the noise is a ringing at startup which then becomes rhythmic/oscillating once it warms up. Fortunately, I'm still under warranty. I ended up buying the Ford ESP because of this. It's a real shame we need to feel like we have to buy ESP to protect ourselves.

Shortening shift times with aftermarket parts can be a good thing, but higher pressures can cause problems, too. Seals can be damaged, valve body gaskets blown, etc. These things can cause the noises you hear.
I wouldn't expect Ford to warranty it if you have modified the transmission. There is a reason pressures are set the way they are from the factory, and providing soft shifts is not always the reason.
I once designed and built a system that would operate an E4OD with no computer. You used the manual shifter to shift it. You only could get first, second, and third gear, but for the off-road race series that it was for that was fine. It lasted about 100 miles before the forward clutch broke. It could not take the higher pressure that this system used. High pressure is not always a good thing.

I removed my springs and valve today. The shifts suck now! Just like they did before the mod. I do have a slight squeal still above 4K rpms. Well, at least I'm ready for the dealer when it goes ka-booie.
