5.4 mpg

hey im looking at buy a f250 with the 5.4 and was wondering what i could be expecting out of this truck. could i get city and highway if possible

1986 f250 Lariat 4x4 6.9L c6 auto/285-75-16's/ brand new viper red paint with my own custom interior viper red and black to match body/front flare out fenders to match newer body style bed from a 95 (custom)

my current project

1985 f250 4x4 in the process of getting her ready for a 12 valve cummins swap.

Search if you like it has been asked a lot. I would guess 12-13 on average.

based on your average 4wd crew cab with 33" tires mixed driving.
7.3L diesel 16-18
6L diesel 15-17
6.4 diesel 13-15
5.4 gas 12-13
v10 gas 11-13

I just hand calculated my mileage from our 07 E150 Ford van. A plain white empty van. It averages 11.6mpg without the A/C on. It has a 4.6L Small v8's get sucky mileage in full size vehicles!

I had a expedition with the 5.4 in it and I got 11mpg and then I put 22's on it and got about 9-10

Yeah, I had a 92 Ford E-150 Club Chateau Wagaon. It had a 302 V-8, and my mpg were stuck at 10 mpg. It was so lethargic, it couldn't even get out of it's own way. It was a nice van, just wish the mpg was better.

Repairs: CPS, Water Separator Valve assembly, rear axle bearings, VSS, batteries, brakes, alternator, serpentine belt (x2), driver door pwrlock actuator, water pump


2003 VW Jetta TDI auto, 90k miles, all stock, no mods, 41 mpg most days. A rocket in disguise...
Repairs: alternator, brake switch (x2), power window wire harness, #4 glow plug, glow plug wire harness -TRADED as of 11/24/2008

Newest purchase - 2009 VW Tiguan 2.0 l turbo 200 hp gas engine (TDI engine not available yet)

I get 10-12 Empty with Flowmasters and K&N filter on my 2005. Around 6 pulling a tandem axle box trailer. A little better on my 2000
