5 speed tranny

I'm looking at new trucks to replace my '94 F250 Turbo Diesel. I'll be buying a F350 Crew Cab Dually to pull a 38' 5th wheel car hauler (~10,000lbs).

What I'd like to know is if the 5sp that comes with the V10 is the same trans used in the last generation Powerstrokes (before the 6 speed came out)? I know that trans had a good rep.

If not, what kind of reputation does the current 5 speed have?? If the 5 speed is a thumbs down, I may consider a Powerstroke with the 6 speed, as I'm definately pro-manual trans.

I've got a 5-sp and I love it. Really seems to let you get the most power out of the engine (drove a V10 w/ auto once and wasn't very impressed).
I will say that with first being as low as it is (around 5.7, similar to L on the 6-sp), it may as well be a 4-sp with a towing gear - wish they offered the 6-sp on the gassers.

4 speed: 2.71/1.54/1.00/0.71:1; R=2.18:1
5 speed: 5.72/2.94/1.61/1.00/0.76:1; R=5.24:1
6 speed: 5.79/3.31/2.10/1.31/1.00/0.72:1; R=5.23:1
