Hi guys,
I am a PSD owner, but ocassionally read the other forums. Royal Purple makes a synthetic oil that is a 5W-20 weight. I found it while surfing the Carparts.com web site. Hope this helps you guys out.

Thanks for the tip, Cullyguy. But I wonder if that would be too thin since it is 5w-20 instead of 5w-30? Ford seems pretty serious about putting in only 5w-30 in all their recent gas engines. I asked a dealer tech one day and he said something about the higher volume, lower-pressure oil pump they use. I wanted to use good ol' 10-40w like I have in everything else, but they didn't even recommend that because of concers about inadequate lubrication because the pump can't pick it up fast enough. I thought 5w-30 was too thin to begin with especially in summer but I'm afraid of the waranty Gods at Ford.
I've never even used anything as thin as 5w-30 before.
The oil Is called number 11. I used it in my race car for several years with some pretty amazing results. It is a racing oil which is fine for gas or alcohol but does not have diesel addatives. Don't worry about it being too thin it. It works in 1400HP 800 cubic inch Pro Stock motors.
