Adding Headers?

I just heard that aftermarket headers usually require a lot of wrench and socket work after there installed. This was the first time I have heard this mentioned. Has anyone had any personal experience to enlighten me?
I was considering headers, intake, and exhaust, aftermarket for my 99 V-10. I am not interested in spending a lot of time retightning bolts and having exhaust leakage problems. This is supposedly not a problem with stock headers because they are cast iron.
Needing some "Education" on this topic. Don't think I would be "LIKENIT", if I have to spend a lot of time "UNDERIT", "OVERIT", and "WORKINGONIT".

Re: Adding Headers?

My headers have been on 2 years and no problems with leakage,I did use the stock exhaust manifold gaskets verses the ones that came with the headers.

Re: Adding Headers?

I going on a year with mine. I used the new gaskets. The Borlas came with STAGE 8 locking bolts. They use a metal tang and c-clip to prevent the bolts from backing off. I tightened them up to torque specs and placed the "lock" on and no problems.

You should not have a problem with this unless you just are not used to doing vehicle work. Also having baby sized hands may help. You have any kids, wife, neighbor, or whoever can fit HELPS you beyond belief.
