Re: Another off SD question But still a FORD.

The rear heater controler is not getting vacuum. The dash mounted controller is bad. It is an easy fix if you have any basic mechanical skills.

Pull the access panel off at the rear a/c unit-left side right behind driver's seat-Locate the vacuum hose going to the heater controller actuator, remove the hose. Start the engine and cycle the rear selector knob and check for vacuum at the hose. If there is no vacuum, then the controller is bad. If there is vacuum, the vacuum actuator is bad. Good luck.

Re: Another off SD question But still a FORD.

Thanks Ford Boy, Did what you said and NO
vacuum so i unhooked the vacuum actuator arm and the ac is now working, I know this is just a temp fix,but here in south FL one needs as much AC as possible, never used the heat. By controller you mean front ac/heat switch??I looked under dash followed white vac hose it went right to the ac/heat switch?I think?
Just want to say THANKS again!!!Iam sure a shop would have spent some time finding it,and time is my money. If you are ever in Ft.Lauderdale I'll buy you a beer... This site is GREAT for all kinds of Info!!!!!

Re: Another off SD question But still a FORD.

Howdy!

We keep these forums open for discussion regarding the Ford SuperDuty trucks. This one concerns those trucks that have gas engines. The only spot we have on the site for things like this is the Other Forum.

Off it goes...

Best Regards,
Jay
