Re: Breath of fresh air

I think I remember some people saying that rain, bugs, and just regular dirt and grime from the road could have bad effects. Also said probally not worth it for such little gain.

Breath of fresh air

Gas forum has gone dead, so even if this is a repeat, at least we're getting some traffic.

I cut a hole in the fiberglass support directly in front of the air filter housing. Functionally creating a cold-ram-air induction. No real seat-of-the-pants power gain and no mileage increase. Just better throttle response.

I know someone has to have done this before. So what are the caveats of this action? Obviosly, moisture is one. But, from past experience, I find this fear to be somewhat over-exaggerated. Any others?
