hi my dad has a 2000 f350 v10 and i was looking on ebay yesterday and found a y pipe on there for the v10's and i was wondering if anybody has put a high flowing y pipe on and what did people see for hp gains and mpg gains? he has a borla cat back and a k&n drop in filter to.
I hear on the earlier V-10's that the Y pipe works pretty good.

Is the Y-pipe on your 2000 necked down right near where the two sides join together? The y-pipe on the 2002 models is. I believe it was to get rid of what they were calling "flutter". It looks pretty restrictive. Being a structural, not a mechanical engineer I don't how big of a impact it has on hp, if any at all.
i have a 2002 f250 with the v10 i had my muffler shop make me a full custom y pipe assembly and it helped out alot there was a very noticeable gain in performance and torque and it tows alot better and it gave me about 1mpg gain but you really cant bump up the mileage on the v10s
