Front spring code

I need the front coil spring code for 99to 04 f250 with 5.4 gas motor. I'm trying to lower my psd truck a few inches and I think gasser springs should do the trick.

Re: Front spring code

There is no one out there with a f250 with 5.4 2 wheel drive that will look in the door jam and tell me the spring code

Re: Front spring code

Lager,

The engine optiuon is not necessairly tied to the engine option (in all cases)

The lowest front spring option for the 4x4's, regardless of the engine, is the "U" code springs.

Your spring codes will be a 2 digit code on the door sticker. First digit is the front and the second digit will be the rear springs.

Front spring options include U, V, W, and X codes.

Maybe true for diesels, but gassers also had codes S and T. I suspect what he's asking about is code S, but some heavier F-250 4x4s such as CrewCabs with 5.4L engines had code T and probably code U code springs.

S = 4,000 pounds @ground
T = 4,400
U = 4,800
V = 5,200
W = 5,600
X = 6,000

Bad decision. Your front springs were computer selected to haul the load you'll have on them with your truck loaded to the GVWR. Unless your truck is strickly for show and not for hauling, then if you have code V front springs now, I wouldn't go to anything less than one code downsize, or code U.

Re: Front spring code

The Mod probably thought you'd get a better response regarding the springs under a gas motor in the gas forum. I'd have put it here as well.

Re: Front spring code

Steven,

I wouldn't mind at all, but mine is 4x4. I'll post as soon as I can get out to the drive.
