Gas line backing up during fueling

I've got a new V10 a few weeks ago which I could be happier with, with the exception of one small annoying problem. Whenever I refuel the gas pump cut off at the 3/4 mark and I have to coerce the last 5 gal or so in. Specifically, the gas seems to take longer to drain from the fill line into the tank. While filling, you see the gas come up the line and you have to wait while it drains back down and then you can add more gas. Just got back from driving x-country and the problem was driving me nuts the entire time. I'm taking it into the dealer on Friday but I'm wondering if anyone has had the same problem and if so what the fix was. Might help me get going faster if I can point the mechanics in the right direction, they say they've never heard of it before.
Thanks.
- Alex

Re: Gas line backing up during fueling

I have a 01 CC SB and it fills just fine and seems to be normal.

Re: Gas line backing up during fueling

You have a vent that isn't working properly to let the air out when filling. You also might have a partially pinched fuel fill hose. I have a flatdeck Ford and it has the same problem of being slow to fill because of the angle of the hose and plus I don't have a proper vent. Pack a block of wood with you so when filling up drive the rear wheels up on it to tilt the truck. It helps and I know alot of guys do that.
