Re: getting rid of speed gov

I don't have much to add, but heard that the high octane fuel is not needed, even with the chip. Who has one, and how does it run on 87?

I believe you can order a chip(Superchips or Diablo) and have them not program the timing advance into it. It will prolly be a "custom" program and have an extra cost.

Re: getting rid of speed gov

How about a Superchip "flip-chip". A switch allows you to select one of two programs. One can be "stock" for 87 fuel and the other can be "normal" for 91+ octane. The flip-chip is a little more expensive, but it seems such a waste to get a neutered chip.

Oh yeah- once you get the limiter removed, be sure your truck and tires can safely handle the speed. And remember... it takes a while to stop these big ol' things.

Darn it NoMo.. I completely spaced the flip chip. You could probabally buy a years worth of Premium with the difference between the reg chip and flip chip.

I agree. But, it's an option. And, it's one that a lot of guys are going with.
