Going in for 30K, What should I know?

I just about ready to bring my truck in for the 30K- anything i should know about what to tell them to do? I don't want them doing all that bull**** of changing wiper blades and checking all my lights and charging me $400 for it. I just want the major stuff- all fluids, tune up on engine- Anything else anyone thinks is appreciated- thanks

main things at 30k are fuel filter and tranny flush. then LOF, which should include all fluid checks lights etc.

Re: Going in for 30K, What should I know?

From the Service Guide (30,000 mile):
<UL TYPE=SQUARE>Change engine oil and replace oil filter
Inspect brake pads/shoes/rotors/drums, brake lines & hoses, and parking brake system
Inspect engine cooling system and hoses
Inspect exhaust system and heat shields
Inspect steering linkage, suspension and if equipped driveshaft and ball joints
Inspect tires for wear and rotate
Replace engine air filter
Replace fuel filter
Replace cabin air filter, if equipped
Inspect accessory drive belt(s) (Villager and Escort)
Change automatic transmission fluid...
Replace climate-controlled seat filters (Navigator, if equipped)
Inspect and lubricate 4x2 ball joints (except F-450/F-550)
Inspect and lubricate steering linkage (E and F series...)[/list]
Notice that there's a lot of "inspect" and not a lot of "change/replace"! Let's break this down into the different REAL things that get done:

Oil & filter change- $20 (more or less)
Air filter- $10
Fuel filter- $5
Cabin filter- $0 (we have none)
Tranny "flush"- $100 (maybe less- you can change the fluid yourself and save a about $50)
Seat filters- $0 (we have none)
Lube ball joints- $0 (should be included with oil change)

So, for about $135 you can get the the 30k service performed. That price is what you should look for.
