Good Price?

Just wondering what you guys think about a price I found for a '99 F 250 crew cab lariat with a v-10... has 63k miles and the dealer wants $ 15,989. Its below blue book for retail sales. The dealer has had it on the lot for 57 days and he says (showed it to me on his computer) that the dealership is losing 400 bucks on this truck at this price? Is my leg being tugged right now or what????

Re: Good Price?

I have a 1 ton and that is a really good price. Go to LINK and you can price the truck with options for your area. You got to think the demand is not there for a gas engine like the diesels with these trucks.

If you get concerned with the sparkplug bolw out thing, I have 65K on mine and she will pull like a pitbull. No problems here.

Re: Good Price?

Sounds good to me.Now look at the truck real good what will it need right away??? tires, brakes, battery, ect????if nothing I would go for it.If it needs something use that as a bargaining chip. And try for a little lower price worse they can say is no
And just remember Dealers DONT lose money!!!!!!!never, never, never!!!!And they enter that info in the computer so it will say what ever they want it to.
I worked at a dealership a long time ago and saw all the crap they did behind the scenes and the games they play.It wised me up alot!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck

Re: Good Price?

I bought an '99.5 F350 V10 XLT aupercab with 53,000 miles in early September 2003. The cost was $17,700 and I thought that was really a good price. The dealer had even replaced the tires.

Your price seems real good if nothing major is wrong.

Unforunately, someone in another big truck pulled out in front of me and totaled my truck in mid October. I decided to buy a new 2003 F350 diesel instead of a used one. I was not at all impressed with the power of the V10 for towing my 8,000 travel trailer, so I got the diesel this time.
