Got some money to spend.......help me???

I just sold my old Bronco, so I have a few extra bucks I want to spend on my SD. I am not sure the best things to buy though.

What would be the top three things you would add on to your SD if you had $1000.00 to spend?

I am thinking

1. Banks Transcommand
2. K&N Filter Charger
3. After market cat-back exhaust

Let me know what you think!!! Thanks!!!

Re: Got some money to spend.......help me???

for that grand...... (and assuming you are looking at performance upgrades).....

- k&n fipk gen2 (~250)
- exhaust (~110 installed)
- chip (~220)

that leaves you with $420 extra bones to show me a good time at the strip joint for helping you!

Re: Got some money to spend.......help me???

Now I knew I would get a good response from abendx!!! Thanks man!!!

abendx, can you give me the name of that guy you bought your chip from? I read your posts and want to do the same. Was your chip only $220? Also....did it help your tranny shift better?

And BTW.....if your ever in Iowa....I will be more than happy to take you to the strip club with my "extra" money!!!!

Re: Got some money to spend.......help me???

damn... i gotta go to iowa.... um, keep the money for more mods.... there isn't much of a chance of seeing me there (and if i ever do end up there... i will look u up and we can have a "dutch" strip joint experience..... ummmm, is iowa that place with inbreeding??? if so, lets not do a strip joint, ok. lol).

ummm... the guy i got mine from will charge you about $300 (i am not sure of the exact cost since mine needed a custom program for the tires/gears.... i paid $375).... you can find them on the net for less.... i think when i ordered from rpmoutlet.com they were charging 220.00..... but don't buy from them.... they told me that they were getting it ready and whatnot, but i never got it nor would i have since my code wasn't in diablo's system..... now i have a credit card bill from them that i have to dispute even though i never got anything nor could they have sent me a working chip... and i did cancel the order two weeks after i made it since i didn't get what they promissed i would get three days after the order..... and did i mention, they said they wouldn't bill me til it shipped?

so.... DON'T buy from them sleeze balls at rpmoutlet.com!

so... as i was saying... lol.... you can prob find them on the net for less, but the guy that did mine was very customer service orientated... in fact maybe the best i have ever seen.... (yeah, he could have been a good looking redhead with big boobs and a tiny waist (can you say jessica rabbit ) and offered me other services to go along with the chip.... but then again, i may win the lottery this week).... and i needed the custom read... i'd say it was well worth the extra few dollars.

and yes... tranny shifts nice and hard now!!!! i even aksed for more when we tried to fix the speedo (which is still being worked on )

the guys name is shawn and his number is 562-640-0057 or 562-694-4807 (DiabloSport of So Cal).

Thanks again abendx!!! I will look him up as soon as I am ready and see what sort of deal he can shoot me.

BTW......easy on the inbreeding jokes. That happens way south of us!!! And anyway.....since you are in CA, I was expecting "Dude" and "Yo" to be every other word in your vocab...lol.....

Thanks again man!!

ps......your truck is looking sweet these days! next summer my lift goes on!

Re: Got some money to spend.......help me???

YO LVNITUP, headers..... yeah... since your not taking me to teh strip joint... they would prob add some good power, DUDE!

ok ok.... i do say dude here and there... but "yo" ???? not a [censored] chance in hell.... using it above was really hard to do..... i do smoke crack occasionally, but rap music and "yo" haven't yet penetrated my daily life. lol.

DJR17... dude, you got them borla headers (with the replacement y-pipe)? how do you like? and what kind of headaches could i assume in warranty issues with a set of headers?

thanks!

Re: Got some money to spend.......help me???

I had a set of JBL headers on my last truck and loved them, but I have heard about the nightmares associated with hooking up the egr lines to the Borlas headers. Something about the threads being different or something.

Anyway....I would love to get them if Borla has fixed that problem. ANyone know if they have???

abendx.......glad to hear you don't use "yo" on a daily basis!! lol

peace homey!

Re: Got some money to spend.......help me???

Headers, y-pipe and a cat-back exhaust would use up your $1G YO! I think that if you chip your truck, you would be sorry if you didn't free up the air flow in and out of the motor. I'd do the K&N and exhaust first then chip it later. You could also throw in a PowerAid (sp) spacer for a bennie.($100)

Re: Got some money to spend.......help me???

YO Abendx easy on the Iowa Inbreeding. Shoot just cause a Guy marries his sister all of a sudden he is inbreeding. On a seriuos note us Iowans are REDNECK farmers that don't take kindly to them there inbreeders. We hog tie them and throw them out in the cattle lot.
Later DUDE

Re: Got some money to spend.......help me???

I don't know what I think about the REDNECK farmer thing either CB SUPERDUTY. lol

Well....I have decided to go with intake and exhaust first. I am going to go with a K&N FIPK for the intake, but exhaust is my next question. I think I might go with the Borla headers and a custom exhaust with a Flowmaster 40 like abendx has.

What do you think of that?

Then in a few months, I will either buy a chip or the Banks transcommand.

Let me know you thoughts on this!!
