I installed Autometer gauges, since they were available locally for me. I flipped a coin on oil pressure
vs. vaccuum gauge. When gas went up to $1.90 a gallon, I started driving according to the vaccuum
gauge. Managed to eek out an extra couple dozen miles or so from a tank full. Most of the time the
V10 is just too much fun so I ignore the gauge and stomp on it!

it's guys like you that make this site the fantastic venture it is...your pics were so completely helpful, well done, and well... intimidating! ...
When I get closer to doing this, I may start e-mailing you, who knows, calling you in the middle of the night, whatever, for help and reassurance!
Can you tell me how well the guages are performing (accuracy, etc.), and the make?
Do they match the background lighting of the stock dash lights? I think it would be distracting to get aftermarket guages with white faces and blue illumination contrasted against the factory dash with green lighting...so I'm glad to see your guages are black with red needles, much like the stock guages...
Also, how much $$ am I looking at and do I need the filter setup you installed (why did you add that, is the factory filter not enough?)
Thanks so much,
Chip

The guages work fine. I have Autometer Sportcomp guages in the A-pillar pod. I have Autometer Performance series gauges in the overhead console I made. I like the Sportcomp guages better as far as looks and backlighting. They have red/orange needles and come with green and red covers for the light bulbs.
Our transmissions normally run cool so if you want your transmission guage to move at all get one that goes down to 100*.
I got all my stuff from Summit Racing. The pod (ATM-17307) is $58.95. Oil pressure guage (ATM-3327) is $49.95, transmission temperature (ATM-3357) is $39.95, and water temperature (ATM-3337) is $39.95.
I installed the remote transmission filter mostly because it provided a place for the transmission temperature sender. When I installed my lift kit one of the spring clamps hit the remote filter, so I removed it and put the temperature sender in the side of the transmission in the 'normal' spot. My advice...I wouldn't mess with the remote filter unless you just wanted it.
Fantastic, thanks! I appreciate you answering all I asked...and I will e-mail when I start the work...right now I'm saving for the "goods"...it's the only way I can get "mamma" to let me...!!!
