And 6.0's run great until you blow a turbo, reflash the computer 27 times, fix the weeping oil leak at the bell housing or replace all of the injectors hopefully before the heads are destroyed. Not to mention the intercooler line issues as well as the loss of splitshot injection at reflash #2. Did I miss anything
Oh and there is the 6.4 that is currently under recall while this is written...

[/ QUOTE ]
Was all of this on YOUR truck or are you "passing along info?" My 04 F350 with 67K miles has had none of that and tows a WHOLE lot better than a V10 ever will. Heck, my 97 F250 HD with a 460 tows better than the new v10 AND gets better fuel mileage....not by much though.

[/ QUOTE ]

Are you delusional? Your '97 460???? HAHAHAH! I HAD a 460 too. It got 8 MPG empty or loaded. My V10 got 15.4 unloaded on a trip to Sacramento 3 months ago driving 65. It averages 13.3-14.1 the rest of the time on the highway when I'm doing 70-75. It also has averaged for 6 years 10.5 mpg with a loaded cab-over camper (see gallery).

As far as towing, you think that 460 will outpull the V10? My 460 would pull my tractor up the Siskiyou mountains at 55 mph tops flat out. The V10 scoffs at the hill with the same load. Nice try on the 460 bit. What a joke Great engine but will NOT outperform the V10 AND get better gas mileage as you imply. I have owned both, have you?.

As to the 6.0 issues, you must live in a vacuum. I have friends who love them and friends who hate them, including 2 buy-backs. All you have to do is look at the lawsuits with Ford and Navistar to get an idea why the warranty cost/splits are in such dispute. Do you see those issues ON ANY OTHER DIESEL MOTOR???

Re: Is this guy blowing hot air like I suspect?

A 460 out pulling a V-10 - HAHAHAHA. Good joke! I'm a die hard Ford man always have been, but would NEVER own a 460 due to pitiful performance. They do run a long time though. I own a 7.3 powerstroke(I agree, best diesel Ford has) and a V-10. They are two completely different rigs though. Powerstroke is a CC 4x4 longbed SRW. The V-10 is in a 32' motorhome. Both due an excellent job. The motorhome pulling my 3200lb boat behind it ran mid 9's on mileage. When the Siskiou grades came it did great as well. So much so that If I was going to buy a new pickup it would be the 3V V-10. The V-10 is one awesome motor. If I was Ford I would have tried to push it much more then the 6.0. Look at the warranty repair cost they would have saved. For years I laughed at the fact of the V-10 being even close to a diesel. No more after owning and driving one! Or, you could have one of the "terrible" 04 6.0s like mine that has 67,000 miles and no issues and will out pull your V10 every day of the week and get better fuel mileage all day long. How many 6.0s did you have before you came up with that statement. Uh huh, that's what I thought.

My buddy has an '04 6.0 with fewer miles than that, and it's been in for warranty work 2-3 times since he bought it last summer. I'll admit, it's lifted and has big tires, but right now he's pulling less than 10 mpg. My last fill-up with my V10, I got 11.75 mpg. Can he outpull me? Sure, especially with his Edge chip installed, but my V10 does just fine for me, and the only things I've had to repair so far are a bad U-joint, and the drivers door-ajar switch.

You must have missed the two vehicle in my sig that are currently diesel and the one that is in the process of becoming one.

I would have loved to have a PSD instead of the V10 I have, however in order to get the same truck with the same mileage and options, I would have had to pay around $6,000 more for a PSD. I know the resale is higher, but I just couldn't justify the 50% higher price at the time. I paid $18k for my '02 V10 with 63k, and the same dealer just had an '01 PSD with over 100k miles listed for $22k...

Are there any 500,000 mile V10's still pulling ANYTHING without being overhauled? lol

The 3v V10 WOULD be the towing king, if diesels weren't around.

Re: Is this guy blowing hot air like I suspect?

His gasser can spin the tires on asphalt with 2600 lbs(90% on the rear).
I've pulled my previous 5er up 8-10% dirt roads with my previous SRW gasser, and have pulled my current heavier 5er up the same hills and never spun a wheel. With my foot flat on the floorboard, low gear, sometimes 2WLo. May have to throw the BS flag on some of his statements. Maybe bragging about a mans trucks ability goes along with his exaggerations about salary, fish caught game killed, and the size of his,,,,5er?
